“The best way to approach an Overdrive is real slow. Walk up to it, look at the knobs, have it turned down real low, and then get a feeling for it. Learn what to do with your fingers to make it respond well. If you walk right up to it, it has a tendency to absolutely frighten some people…”

went to his place last saturday, tried the pedals and had him install caps on my les paul. really a nice guy, even played a few songs. you should visit him guys and try the pedals, especially the ELB mud. smooth overdrive which responds to your picking technique. a very good sounding pedal, not only on his TELE, but also on my les paul. Thanks a lot sir Jmorrero...  :-D

Panalo yang si Jim. A very astute Telecaster scholar, player, and electronics wiz. He set up my telecaster, and made it sound the way a tele should.

thanks Jim. I should visit you one of these days to try those pedals.

here's my new CompRoss guitarplayer pedal:

( i intentionally covered other pedals that aren't Filipino made to put into spotlight my new "locally made" pedal, hopefully soon i will get to replace all of them with proudly Filipino DIY made pedals)

Share ko lang:

The CompRoss guitarplayer pedal is the best sounding compressor I've tried & used, partly because it does not color your tone. It can affect your vol., if you want, but not the tone. Walang squishiness! Very nice warm transparency with just the perfect bite IMHO!

Gustong gusto ko pag yung level knob at about 12:00, and the sustain anywhere from 11:00 to 3:00. This is where the magic occurs. The notes start popping right off the fretboard(literal men!), with almost no effort. Even if you barely touch the string, the note is still in your face. Sounds wonderful with distortion & specially well with clean!

Check out his videos in youtube or kung gusto mo live sa harap niyo pakinggan.. Puntahan niyo lang si Jimmy. That's what i did. Dalin niyo pa gitara mo at fx kung trip mo pa. It was very very nice of him to accommodate me to visit him (even on a sunday!) & to try out the pedal for myself. Sarap ka-kwentuhan at lalo na pag usapang tele na! Sarap tumambay at mag jam. Really nice guy.

Best decision ever IMO. This pedal kicks ass regardless of what style you want to play. Naka truebypass na at matched pa mga transistor! I love the look even of just the pedal itself, panis mga boss pedals ko eh!

It's almost like "boutique pedals but on the cheap" fun. Di ko kasi kaya ma afford mga totoong boutique, so next target ko E.L.B MuD or TAWNY pedal... Alam ko on the process na din ang chorus pedal.. Hopefully next ang delay at reverb!

Thanks again so much for everything Jimmy! :-)

thanks fo the review bro

Bro,thread to ni sir jmorrero, matuto naman sana tayo ng courtesy. Posting a link to an entire DIY site is unethical, since sir jmorrero is promoting his brand of pedals. In short...thread jack yung nangya-yari.

There's a thread here in GC where you can post that link about DIY stomps. PEACE!
