"Dear friends - As you might already know, i was readmitted last Wed due to various complications and fever. A battery of tests was done and on they found out that, for one, I contracted pneumonia and, worse, my heart's sac (pericardium) had accumulated about 500ml of blood and other effusions. This was the main culprit for my racing heartbeat, breathing difficulty, and sleeping disorder. Within a few hours (Thu nite) I was rushed to the OR for an emergency pericardiotomy to drain the fluids around my heart and insert a tube to keep it draining after. So, ayun, 'binuksan' na naman ako and I now have a fresh wound over the old.
After the operation my breathing improved. From 'hingal aso' , I just have shortness of breath, but this could be multifactorial, incl my pneumonia, diapraghmatic paralysis, mediastinitis, delay in post-op rehab, etc. Anyway, doctors say we're trying to address and treat each problem already but recovery will take time. I think i'll be here for a while yet. Thanks for including me in your prayers.
