i prefer crashable ride. . . does the job. . .

unlike rideable crash, which has a small bell. . .

how can you do grooves on that small bell?  and limited volume?

so, the crashable ride wins for me.
hahaha ako binibiyak ko muna yung wetpaks para makita kung may yellow thingy hahahaha

for me, its better to have a medium or a rock crash for my rideable crash cymbal. i think allan bordeos of kamikazee uses this kind of set up.

oo nga no.. you guys proved a point.. :-D

nga pala, tnx for the replies guys..!

how about this?
you have a 16" crash, and 14" hats..
given the situation.. what would you prefer as your next cymbal?..
would you get:

a crash/ride?
a crashable ride?
or
a rideable crash?

karamihan ng mga crash/ride eh joketime yung pagiging "ride" nila. kadalasan eh halos walang stick definition. parang crash lang siya na ride yung profile.

as for crashable ride vs rideable crash... basta a cymbal is a cymbal is a cymbal. as long as it does the job, kahit ano yung tawag dun sa cymbal na yun, eh di yun ang gamitin mo. halimbawa... yung 20" K Pre Aged Ride ko, ginagamit ko as a crash. tapos sa Purple Haze dati may 20" Z Power Crash na naka set-up as a ride. tsaka tulad ng sabi ko rin, wala pa ako nasusubukang crash/ride na okay na ride (kaso yung Paiste Rude Ride/Crash, pwede talaga pareho)

wag mo na isipin yung pangalan nung cymbal. guide lang naman yun e. subukan mo yung cymbal at kung kaya nun yung gusto mong tunog, eh di gamitin mo siya para dun.

To answer your topic question I would go with the rideable crash. I am very specific with my preference on ride characteristics having enough ping to satisfy my ears. I prefer a ride that does its job as a ride and a crash that is rideable rather than having a crashable ride.

For your 2nd question I would go for a ride given you have the hats and the crash already. Search for a ride that you really desire. It may take awhile but a ride is a great investment and when found you will truly fall in love with it.

kung ako ang tatanungin, a crashable ride nalang. pero mas maganda kung 18" yung ride eh. alam ko may 18" na ride ang K zildjian.

Sometimes we make a small portable kit composed of the floor tom converted to a bass drum, one tom snare hihat and ride... I choose ride coz It's a lot more versatile compared to a crash... and even if I just have a ride... the hihat can serve as a crash... ehehe... un lang..

a crashable ride would do. 2-in-1, 2 for the price of 1, hitting 2 birds with one stone...that sort of thing. may i humbly recommend a 20" K Custom Dark Ride followed by a 21" A Custom Projection Ride, excellent 2-in-1s for me.

di ba masyado mabigat yung A Custom Projection?

okay rin na 2-in-1 yung K Pre Aged Dry Light Ride, yung standard K Ride, tsaka A Medium Ride.
