LUDWIG epic funk or TAMA superstar hperdrive?

Hi mga boss! I'm planning to buy a new set of drums. Can you help me decide which of these two is better? Thanks!

Calling Harugrugrug.....nway, tama Superstar hyperdrive comes with birch shell, while the epic funk birch/maple shell...pero para sakin LUDWIG ako..bakit?kasi yan ang gamit ko ngayon and satisfied nman ako...hehehehe

Konti lang kasi difference nila sa price eh. Tapos yung sa epic funk na package may extra tom pa. Tapos 10 pa yung lugs nung bass compared sa 8 sa tama. Malaking diff po ba yun sir?

wat do you mean extra tom? set of 8,10,12 and 16 tom usually un..well prang wala nman yta diff  yung 10lugs sa 8lugs aside sa easy tuning lng sir ang 10lugs..how much now ludwig funk? actually im still looking for 8". ludwig n lng bilin mu then sell the 8" whahahaha joke

Kung mas direct ang articulation go for Tama,Kung May warmth e go for Ludwig
For ten lugs/ eight lugs issue, personal preferences na lang,mike portnoy uses 8 pero napakadistinct ng sound niya,Meron naman 10 gusto dahil mas steady tuning for higher pitch sounds.
Kung all around kit,get Ludwig,kasi depth din ng shells e madami kang sound choices.
Sa hyperdrive, yung tom depth Lang Hindi mo Sita mapapakanta talaga dahil shallow toms Siya,
Pero if you use one ply heads makukuha mo din yung sound. Wag manghinayang sa additional tom.hehe
Ang Tama superstars have Virgin bass drum,it was a big factor for me dahil I don't like my toms hanging on the bass,I don't know about the Ludwig,slip ako Mamamaya sa jb,hehe. Pero advantage
Is the 10 lugs bass and snare. Pero for me it wag never the issue.hope this helps.

Thanks guys! Laking tulong. Parang 58k ata yung ludwig sa jb tapos virgin din bass drum. Yung tama naman 55k sa audiophile. 50k pag cash. Hehe

Sorry for butting in on your small group discussion,  hehe, had the same quandary when I was scouting around for a kit: epic vs superstar hyperdrive. I agree with all the posts...

My take: If your priority is sound then choose whichever gives the type of sound you like. The epic gives you warmth while the hyperdrive gives you punch. You won't go wrong eitherway on this one. It would help if you test them. I went for the hyperdrives.

Now do take note, if your other priority is durability, the new hyperdrive "downgraded" the stands. They used to package it with a Roadpro set pero ngayon hindi na in order to keep the price competitive. Malaking plus noon ang Roadpro hardware. The vintage look of the epic hardware is fine but do review it for its durability.

In the end, whatever makes you happy brother!

Yeah,di na road pro ang stands ng new hyper drives,pero I think it's both boom stands na Pwede maging straight like the Yamaha,di naman ako Maselan sa hardwares,pedal at snare stand lang ang pinakaconcern ko,sa cymbal stands E mas OC ako sa washers at cymbal felts dahil Malaga ako cymbals,hehe,at di naman ako pagalaw galaw,and before I forgot,the punch of the tama,boom! Sobrang sarap if you are into deep in your face kick sound.my hyperdrives were on stock skin pero Hayop sa tuning ang kick.

well basta ako im contented and satisfied with my ludwig.hehehe pro snare ko hyperdrive galing kay sir harugrugrug..pro to be honest if i hve given a chance i would rather to choose ludwig parin hehe dahil sa vintage look nya and swabe hardware.well tama po sila better gawin reference ang youtube.

Salamat mga sir! I went with the hyperdrive. Bought it a while ago at qudiophile. Ganda! Flat black color. it came with an iron cobra 200. Okay ba yun? Gusto ko na ibenta together with the stock heads. Hehe

Hey congrats sir! Don't let go of the 200 yet, upgradeable yan pwede lagyan ng cobra coil. Pero just as i said it's up to you.

Thanks sir! Last na!! Haha. Pinalitan ko po yung drun heads to remo pinstripe except for the snare. Tingin niyi po sulit pag binilan ko siya ng remo coated ambassador? Salamat po! Pasensiya na ang daming tanong. Hehe
