About to push the button

Ok ok ok. Recently medyo napapadalas ang dalaw ko dito because i've have been doing a lot of research for my 1st dslr purchase and you might have seen a lot of threads asking for this kind of advise so please dont flame me for this  i feel like parang mas comfortable ako mgtanong dito keysa sa digitalphotographerPH so here it goes.

after very careful consideration, i have decided to go for a 1000d due to budget reasons and good reviews. Here are the facts:

- I like portrait photography.
- some nature shots (mga tipong sunset, nice places etc.)

I also will be using the slr to shoot for our band's gigs and prang general use na ren pag tipong may out of town etc..
 
My question is.

-   kapos ba ang 7 point AF system? 
-   Spot meter? Ganu ka important to?
-   Durability wise ok ba sya?
-   Overall, would you recommend 1000d for starters like me given the above facts?

I dont see myself upgrading anytime after getting the 1kd so i hope durable sya and di ako ma gas sa ibang cam sa kakulangan nya lol I really like the end results of canon’s photo so isa ren ito sa malaking factor of deciding to go for 1kd

I have a week to decide ill probably do the purchase next Saturday. So I hope im making the right decision hehehhe salamat mga fafs

And pahabol, mahal ba ang 200mm lens? Lol

for me oks na ang 1kD for starters.. and mas maganda magbigay sayo ng advice eh yung mga nakagamit na ng 1kD (like kurtcobainer). yung live view nyan ang magagamit mo ng husto.. lalo na sa gig photography dahil kahit maraming tao nakaharang sa harap mo eh mag live view ka lang iaangat mo yung camera in AF mode makakapagpicture ka na

pero dude.. ill give you 6 months after mo bumili ng 1kD.. ibang klaseng GAS ang photography hehe.. di mo mapipigilan ang kati ng pag uupgrade..

about Canon.. what I really like is the sound of the shutter..

^ yeah i remember i was asking you before regarding entry level slr ngaun eto na talaga this is it  patay nga ang bass gas ko, ngaun camera muna I hope more than 6 months naman  i'll stick with the body and kit habang ngprapraktis at sana wag muna ma gas kagad practice muna, though I see myself getting a nice zoom lens 

- another thing, 10mp vs 12mp of 450d, malaki ba ang difference in terms of colors?
- also, nagagawa ba sa 1kd ung, naka AF sya, tapos press ung zoom out button then you can manually choose the AF point like in 450d? ung malilipat lipat ung red dot in view finder (I hope im using the right term) para mapili mo ung AF point.

- yup pwede siya gawin dun sa 1000D

Wala pala spot metering 1000D? Di ko na kasi pinakialam yung metering nung nakigamit ako sa kaibigan ko haha.

Magandang camera ang 1000D for starters bro. Ang ayaw ko lang sa Canon yung malabnaw na color nya compared to Nikon DSLR's. Pero if yun talaga ang gusto mo kunin, ok sya. Nabitin lang talaga ako sa features nya kaya binenta ko. Pero, between the 1000D & 450D wala namang mashadong difference. 'Di naman masahadong big deal yung 10mp vs 12mp. Go, go, go na bro!

thanks guys, i was able to borrow and test some of my officemate's cam (d40,d3k,450d) and i like 450d the most. I understood the use of spot metering of 450d and the 9 af focus point might be more effecient than 7 of 1kd's for moving subjects so i think ung mga add ons ng 450d versus 1kd is crucial nga.

Composing a picture aint that easy pala so,, much respect to you guys. i never thought photography could be really as hard as slapping triplets or could be even harder now medyo nagdadalawang isip nanaman ako if this slr thing is really for me (i had an 1kd reserved for me last friday pero nung kukunin ko na ng saturday am nagdalawang isip ako ng sobra hehe) so for now im still holding on the idea of getting an slr or pns na lang muna hehe labo ko. anyway thanks much again guys. apir
