Last time I taught DigSound at Benilde, the music production course was more geared towards a conservatory type of curriculum. Not sure if they re-directed it to a true production course by now.
Sonar 4.04PE/5.2PE/7.02PE/8.31 PE, Project 5 v2.5.1, EmulatorX 1.5, Cubase SL2, Ableton Live 7.14,  Intel Q6600 MSI P43 Neo 4Gb Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2-800, Emu 1820m, Yamaha DSP Factory, Terratec DMX 6fire

the rec side of benilde is getting better now. I believe they have a digidesign control surface now and my friend who studied in full sail teaches 'basic' & 'advanced' recording. Im pretty sure you can attend some sort of open house thing

Yup! Unfortunately so, Mark. Even made more difficult with the lack of proper tools. At least nagagamit ko pagka ME ko and on the upside, my car's engine purrs like a cat.

Sorry for the OT... carry on!

Music conservatory, although I heard they installed PT HD systems to complete the recording curriculum. I don't know if any changes have been initiated; I was connected with their multimedia arts dept. where we taught audio post instead.

I was able to look at the music production curriculum for the coming school year, looked good, subjects focused on keyboard, guitar, composing for big and small bands, subjects on recording, mixing, mastering. I was kinda jealous because as a Multimedia Artist all we're taught is basic recording and sound design, and you could take an elective on foley creation.

I don't know about the Mprod equipment, but as far as Multimedia Arts goes, the audio labs got those Digidesign interfaces for Pro Tools, but they only use Pro Tools LE.

Occasionally I sneak in some lab time to record guitars and vocals hahaha, teaching myself some basic mixing and mastering coz I'm our band's "tech". XD

haha, not much. I'm in MMA so puro kwento kwento lang naririnig ko about MProd. The closest we have are our professors who are coincidentally members of Eternal Now.  :-D we have a prof in MMA who was mixing the live recording from an Urbandub gig on his laptop once.

Mprod, ang alam ko lang dun naging prof minsan si Francis Reyes tapos sobrang higpit nila sa gamit, parang ginto daw kung alagaan haha. almost all of the popular bands from our school came from Mprod though, they have these things na ang parang may recitals sila not just on playing, but on setting up and managing live audio production. Enjoy talaga pag tumutugtog sila sa cafeteria namin eh

in Multimedia Arts, we're just taught strictly sound design. its up to you if you'll apply what you've been taught for recording and stuff. I've seen three generations of equipment go by na, first we started with just M-Audio Fast Tracks for recording using Vegas/SoundForge, a year later they were upgraded to Allen & Heath ZED-12FX mixers (I think), and after two years they eventually replaced them with Digidesign interfaces and started teaching kids basic recording using Pro Tools LE.
