 CHECK THIS OUT!  Makatha (pronounced as ma-ka-ta) has just launched its first album on May 12, distributed by EMI Records and now available in music stores.  The 11-track album are all original compositions  -- an olio of folk, rock, reggae, mellow and zany.

Makatha is Epy, Ronnie & Boy 2 Quizon, Norris Lopez & Gio Alvarez on vocals, backed up by Chuck & Jeff de Castro on guitars, To-ne Fernandez on base and Marco Guzman on drums.

I tell you, guys -- you've got to have this album.  It's simply fantastic!

U got it right, Manayz!  I was at Gweilo's Eastwood when it happened last Friday.  I was so impressed with the band's kind of music, and the bandmembers' rapport with each other and with the audience.  Got a copy already, and proudly showin' it around to my musicmates.

Keep on rockin', guys and good luck on your hot album.  Hope it gets hotter.

=D> Got to see Makatha perform (again) at Metro Bar West Ave. last Tuesday to help out RockEd & Unicef's Book Drive.  The show was reaaalllyyy fun-tastic!  The crowd simply lapped them up.  Great going, guys!  Guess I'll never get tired of seeing you play your brand of music+++.  And kudos for helping out with the book drive  --  it'll mean a lot to help children.
