Title: how do you sound check when you're on stage??hehe
Post by: zeus_ on April 15, 2008, 12:57:06 PM: guys,how do you sound check after tuning your guitar or when you're already on stage??? 8-)
do you do fast burning :evil: solos,sweeps,DO YOU COVER INTRO FROM TRACKS OF DREAM THEATER!?(whoa!) :-D,DO YOU PLAY COMPLICATED RIFFS,INTROS,DIFFICULT PARTS OF YOUR FAVORITE TRACKS? OR HUMBLY STRIKE A SINGLE CHORD?

kaya kahit nagaayos kami, tunog open jam pa rin.:D kahit paano at least.XD usually, whatever the key of our first song is, that's the key we use when fixing the amp settings.:D

Post by: demet on April 15, 2008, 08:38:14 PM: kadalasan reggae and togs namin...so when I'm done setting up...I play around with my wah and then skank away...normally papasok na yung drummer...dahan dahan pati yung keyboards and bass...tapos pag nagsawa na kami mag jam...pasok na yung vocalist and we start the gig...sa open jam din simula uminom para pag gig na talaga...maluwag na...and by the way, I think it's important to have a sound check with the whole band, para matimpla niyo yung levels niyo...kasi pag lahat kayo maingay, ang sama ng tunog...at pag midway marami ka pang tinimpla, parang nakakwalang gana yung togs...

I have yet to find a reliable guitar tech on small gigs. ^^;

@Topic

We play basic chords and simple licks just to check if they manage to cut through. We don't do anything fancy since we're doing a sound check to, well, check the sound. :-D

no need to tweak the amp anymore if you've already used that kind of amp and remember the settings you did

Then we try to balance our stage volume for each instrument, which also depends on the size of the stage. Then we just play a random chord progression like E-C#m-A-B or sumthing like that for the soundman to do his thingy. :)

play a song, wether or not matapos ang kanta....

make sure you hear everybody fine, you can hear yourself fine and you're neither too loud or to soft.

check/tweak eq then you're set. just collaborate with the guy on the mizing board to make sure everybody is happy.

habang nangyayari un pinakikingan namin at inaayos namin ung gamit namin kung ok ba o hindi,.. hagang matapos ung soundcheck which is about 20-30 seconds lang..

hehe practical lang.. :-D :lol: :wink:

Sa akin lang, hindi kailangan parehas ang volume ng lahat. Ang corny naman nun dahil walang impact yung ibang parts.
