Transporting a guitar from Ph to Riyadh Saudi

Newbie here. Gusto ko lang sana ng update regarding transporting your guitar from Phils to Riyadh Saudi, via SAUDIA AIRLINES. I've been reading some posts here pero outdated na xa. Anyone who has experienced this?

if it's in a hardcase, they will ask you to check it in.

if in a soft case, they will put it in their cabin.

branded guitars are normally more expensive there as Saudi's are not musically inclined

check out Batha, a place were all Pinoys normally spend their weekends, you'll be able to find mostly yamaha guitars and boss pedals.

higher end guitars can be found in the malls

I see. Sometimes, even when they let you not check it while at check in, they can ask you to "gate check" it at the last minute if nagkulang ng space sa plane for some reason. Unless may prior arrangement, there's really no way of knowing for sure if they'll let you bring it in until you're there.

Hi bro.

Don't take any risk.  Hardcase is the best option and let them check it in.
My experience with Gulf Air (PH to BH) was hindi nila pina-handcarry ung guitar ko kahit naka-softcase.
Kailangan naka-hardcase bro and checked-in.

Iwas na rin sa hassle na baka di ka payagan na i-hand carry, tapos at least protected ang guitar mo duing flight, and of course comfortable ka during flight dahil kaunti lang ang handcarry mo.

Same Here. last year na balik ko sa Saudi, vai Saudia Airlines with stop over at Dammam. they ask me to check in my guitar, naka hard case naman un but still im woried, and thank god pag dating ko ng Dammam at mag change aircraft na, ok parin ung case at walang damage hanggang sa jeddah.

FYI sir, mas maganda kung i pa safe wrap or i secure mo ung case at the same time may lock ang case mo. syempre para hindi bumukas or buksan  or umangat ang opening ng case.

nung pumunta ako ng jeddah, saudi arabia, dala ko les paul ko in a soft case. pinasafety wrap ko (yung all around bubble wrap) tapos check in. wala namang problema. nung pauwi, hindi ko napasafety wrap, nagka minor ding siya sa may headstock.

i think safe na pag naka safety wrap. might as well use that service.

A good hardcase plus Safety wrap plus "handle with care" stickers. From italy nakarating naman ng maayos yung guitar. Yung hardcase may "ding"

if it's bolt-on, baklasin mo nalang then bubble wrap each separately then lagay mo sa maleta. so far i have brought 4 guitars from the US on different occasions na binabaklas ko lang. nakapag-uwi na rin ako ng bass (soft case) na na-hand-carry ko lang, then isa pang acoustic na may malaking hard case, hand-carry din.
