@plep
numbers 1 and 3 are justifiable.
number 2 is debatable.
number 4 is dubious, but acceptable depending on which side you're on. my take==pure win!

I strongly agree on this brother Gep! I can't believe that there are people who play music to impress women. oh well....

aba BJ penn, baka lalaki gusto mo i-impress! delikado yan bro! wag ka magalala tatanggapin ka pa din naman namin d2 kahit na [pichapie] ka pala.

can we not play for the love of music and to impress girls at the same time? kailangan ba isang reason lang ang meron para magdrums? well honestly, one of the first reasons why i wanted to play the drums was to impress girls... i was still in grade school then... and then eventually i learned to love the groves, the fills... etc. wala naman siguro masama na maging tao lang!

oh well?!?... oh well yourself!!! ang yabang mo pare! cge na deep ka na... and im shallow! astig ka na, you're a purist... pag drums... drums lang! ingat ka, baka pag sobrang "in-na-in" ka na sa music mo e magtranscend na ung soul mo, baka di ka makabalik sa body mo!

Hey guys, I barely post here but eto lang masasabi ko sa Paistes to ensure longer shimmer for the cymbals: DO NOT USE CYMBAL CLEANERS. Paistes are known to have a protective coating to prevent tarnishing but by using strong cymbal cleaners, parang yung Promark Groove Juice, natatanggal yung protective coat. It's best to just use cold water, some soap, and then some Turtle Wax or any type of wax with (barnuba ba yun? Basta nag sisimula sa B). In time, the Paistes' coat will wear for sure, mas tatagal nga lang ang coat pag di ginamitan ng Groove Juice. :-D

So, if cleaning is an issue for you, go with Paiste. (tunog endorser, haha)

Kung babae lang habol mo, bumili ka ng copy ng dalawang libro ni Neil Strauss: The Game at saka Rules of the Game. P500 lang each pero lifetime investment na yun!

Besides, you should play for the music, not for the girls.
Girls are just part of the perks.

+1 :-D :-D

actually i wouldn't recommend any wax or such thing for paiste (or cymbals in general). it could mess with the coating, and could accumulate on the cymbals if used incorrectly. soap and water should be fine if you clean regularly.

also, i believe paiste does have its own propietary cymbal cleaner, specifically designed with their cymbal coating in mind. i doubt audiophile has some in stock, though.

If u want your cymbals to be clean you'll be really forced to be vain lol. but they are right, yung iba nga ibinabaon pa sa lupa yung mga cymbals para mgkaroon ng unique sound characteristics.

anyway, doon uli tayo sa topic.. haha..

i'd rather have the black alpha's or new alpha cymbals than the pitch black discontinued( :-D haha) series of zildjian..

as they not only make the cymbal look cooler(or something like that), it also gives additional character, a lot more durable and much focused overtones, maximizing its volume to extreme(!) levels.. (not sure bout this, correct me if i'm wrong  :-D)

just a thought... alam naman natin na hindi pwede i-compare ang zildjian pitch black w/ the other zildjians like the As, A customs, Ks etc etc... naisip ko lang hindi kaya tataas ang value nito ngayon or in the future dahil discountinued na sya? palagay nyo? dapat ba tumaas ang value or hindi?...just something that crossed my mind. :-)

Pagaagawan? Dahil discontinued?

I don't see anyone paying big bucks for the Zildjian ZXTi (Titanium-coated).

IMO the pitch black series is a bad piece of musical engineering.  Aside from the entry level materials used, they added a coat of paint. This is not really a good idea unless you want your cymbal sound with a fast decay.
Beginners may find it appealing because black cymbals look awesome but once you gain experience and an ear for the sound you will regret buying those cool looking cymbals.

Oh, and if money is not an option.. buy a car.  It will get you chicks for sure.
