For blues, its either you plug in straight into a tube amp and turn everything up (non-master volume tube amp) to overdrive it so to speak, or use an overdrive pedal, say an Ibanez TS9 or equivalent, or use an overdrive pedal to boost the amp....

Other than that, hmmmmm anything goes naman for me.... A touch of chorus, or delay to fatten the sound....

Just my two cents anyway  :-D

md2? mega distortion yun, right? Too heavy yung sound niya for me, I'd stick to ODs.

IMO a tubescreamer or a Boss BD-2 will be good on playing blues.
just groove with it and everything will be allright...

You don't even need to use an effects pedal; you can just plug straight into a clean amp. Listen to Anson Funderburgh, for example. He's from Dallas, Texas, but his strat tone is so clean, and his licks are to drool for. Jummy Vaughan  is another example. So not all Texas blues is in the cliched overdriven SRV style.

That works too, for me hanapin ko lang sa amp yung saktong volume na malapit na siya mag breakdown then lalaruin ko nalang volume knob to get a slightly overdriven guitar sound.

I think Jimmy Vaughan uses a pedal though, I seem to recall having watched PG's rig rundown and he uses a trem pedal.

Have you heard of poppa chubby? Although he doesn't use an MT-2 he has quite a heavy tone.
But he does play a lot of hendrix which kinda explains a lot.

JB doesn't use distortion, he uses fuzz or matapang na klase ng OD

Was it JB or EJ who said that all his pedals' controls are at 12 o 'clock?
ganda din dirt ni JB paired with his marshall.

If for the really old blues, you can simply use an acoustic guitar. (Guess that would make you curious and search some really old stuff :) That is if you don't know about them already).

Most common sa blues ngayon is overdrive talaga.

For me, hindi ako marunong sa style ng mga yun haha. I use Crybaby Wah, MI Audio Blues Pro Overdrive, and Chorus (just using Amplitube for now, still confused on what chorus pedal to get).

It depends kasi sa type ng blues that you are playing, dun na magkakatalo-talo sa type ng effects na gagamitin and also sa feel mong tones na papalabasin. iba iba kasi talaga kaya dapat you should know your style din or kahit papaano yung feel mong palabasin na tunog its your feel kasi talaga. :)

Straight plug na lang sa amp...then low gain kapag SS ang ampli.
Kahit kasi clean tone masarap tugtugin licks ng blues.

Kung gusto mo ng stomps, there's a lot of ODs out there that you might adore.
On vacation...
