Band Name: DUELMO
Band Profile:
A high energy five piece rock band. Their sound is recognizable with intensely catchy melodic heavy grooves, smooth vocals, driving rock bass and drums and the odd instrumental solo thrown into the mix. Coming together in November of 2009 the members of Duelmo made a promise to uplift OPM using their varied musical influences and skills. Their name is a combination of what they first had in mind which was “DU-ON” (Double-Up Or Nothing) and Ern’s dog “ELMO” who always watched their rehearsals, thus the name DUELMO.
Their musical influences are The Beatles, 311, Eraserheads, Led Zeppelin and Incubus just to name a few. Their gig jaunt has included numerous performances at different bars in the Metro and some corporate events. They have been honing their sound and song-writing as well as recording their music in the compilation of their first EP.
Part of the growth of the band relies on their mutual respect and understanding of each other’s musicality as every member takes an active role in the song writing process. Most of their songs were penned by Jonas who can effortlessly convey his thoughts and feelings through his pen and guitar. Their songs emerge from their lengthy jam sessions with their musically diverse backgrounds and taste all adding to the creative mix.
