Three-Crash Setup Help!
« on: March 24, 2011, 12:25:48 PM »
Hey, guys. I'm blueprinting my cymbal setup right now, and I kinda have decided which cymbals to get except for one. I blueprinted a three-crash setup. I'm getting a 17"A Custom Projection Crash and a 19" K Custom Hybrid Crash. I can't decide on what 18" crash to get. I'm currently considering the 18" K Dark Medium Thin Crash, but I'd like to know your opinion about what would blend with the two cymbals that I mentioned. I'd prefer it to be dark, since the AC is bright, and the Hybrid is like in the middle of bright and dark, so yeah. Btw, I currently play in an alternative rock band and in the church worship team, but in the long run I see my self playing fusion, so I'm trying to put together a versatile setup here.

Thanks, and Godspeed! :)

go for the AC's or K's Thin/Med Thin Crashes or go for the ozones/fx to give you more variations on your sound. you might want to try 16" instead of the 18"

18" K Dark Medium Thin Crash to go with 17"A Custom Projection Crash and a 19" K Custom Hybrid Crash seems to be really off-range in terms of volume in a band setup. I think you should stick with K Customs or A Customs for even projection, so either match the 17 or the 19.  The lower/higher pitch will make up for the warmth/brightness difference, vary na lang sa attack when you play.

Go with the Thins and Med-Thins...

Mine are A Avedis Med-thin 16", K Custom Dark 18" and K Custom fast 17"...

Sarap ng projection...

Kung rock naman, I'd do what sir Inigo suggested... mga large size crashes...

And I'm getting my first crash this summer. For now Sabian B8 lang ako. Haha!

I'm starting to lean with what Mr. Inigo suggested. Would an 18" AC Proj crash do? Or maybe a KC Dark Crash.

Naisip kong kunin K Mastersounds at K Dark Medium Ride. Kaso crash lang talaga muna kukunin ko this summer for some reason. Hehe. Ayun. Pure planning palang talaga.

2 crashes lang ok na.. try a 16" or 17" as a main crash, then add an 18".. plus ride.. madami na nga yung 3 crashes. pwede rin gawin mo na lang china yung isa instead of crash..  :-D

-this is TRUE!!!
