I'm glad to say...I am able to hold on and stick to just two snares!
Both Snares are 14 inches in Diameter.
1.) Snare: 10-ply Maple Piccolo Snare (3 1/2 inch deep lacquered Maple Keller Shell with Ludwig Hardware), Ambassadors on the top (coated) and bottom (clear). I got this from Someone who had WAY to many snares...and didn't want this one to go to waste.
* My Snare of Choice
2.) I also have a Tama 4 ply Birch with an outer steel shell snare (5.5 inches deep) with Evans G1 Heads for batter and snare side...(Genera 1000?).
* I'm not crazy about that snare at all!! Massive thing!
I think it weighs more than my 14 tom! But lately tweaking and playing it made me like it a bit more. But I'm still going with my lighter snare.
** I'll only use this when I need something CUTTING! =o) But all complaints aside...I like it's rim click sound is better sounding than what my Piccolo gives out.
