What is your favorite antivirus program? Why do you like it?

norton. i like it kasi madaling gamitin. madali cya maka detect ng mga threat sa pc mo. at isa pa yun pa lang nasusubukan ko. hahah

yun nga lang problema sa norton maabigat masyado eh. masyadon malaki.. kumakai nmasyado ng space sa hard disk mo.

AVG free. kasi free siya. yun nga lang downside is walang support tapos hindi lahat kaya burahin. well ok lang manual, nasasanay din ako gamitin mga natutunan ko sa paigiging estudyante ng CoE

I switched to AVG because AOL's AVS changed their virus engine from Kaspersky to McAfee.

i think i must've gotten a virus from a mac at work. imgkulot sa flash drive ko. doesn't affect the mac at all, pero hassle lang when i got home i checked my files on my windows pc.

AVG Free user here, until recently. I've been testing Avast for a few months now. Looks good. And yeah, it has a free version as well, just like AVG.

Mcafee favorite ko, pero bit defender gamit ko ngayon, makapangyarihan eh

I tried everything on the list. My personal favorite is Kapersky, with NOD32 coming in a close second.

Hindi kasi laging naka-enable yung anti-virus ko. Ang gusto ko lang, scan on demand. Yun lang siguro ang problema sa NOD32 ... mahirap syang i-disable totally. But like Kapesrky, NOD32 is very fast.

Yung Norton, matagal ko nang di ginagamit every since some of my programs started having conflicts with it. And it was such a pain in the ass to uninstall. Well at least at that time. They probably improved their uninstall already.

mas maganda ba pag naka disable lang antivirus? tapos scan ka lang pag gusto mo> or yung naka enable cya lagi..?pero may mga OS na hindi basta nagkaka virus dba? like Linux?

ako din kung kelan ko lang gusto mag scan dun lang ako mag i-scan..
2 months akong hindi nag virus scan tapos nag scan ako nung last week lang.. wala namang virus akong nakuha.. kaya ok talaga sakin tong AVG ko..

I used to use NOD32 but it's active scanning technology interfered with my DAW performance. I then used AOL's Active Virus Shield because it used Kaspersky, wasn't intrusive and had almost negligible impact on resources; most importantly, it did not interfere with my audio operations. AOL's move to McAfee spoiled it because, traditionally, McAfee, along with Norton consume a lot of resources. I replaced AOL with AVG, should have been Antivir but I saw AVG now had active anti-Spyware (as a separate app though).

libre kasi yung norton na bago pag bumili ka ng bagong motherboard. andun yung installer.

limited ang subscription for updates sa bundled Norton software (1 year). and it's bloatware. while packages such as AVG have a very small footprint on your system.

Depende sa PC mo. Sa work ko kasi, kailangan ko talaga i-preserve ang processing ng PC ko -- I use very memory-intensive applications (virtual servers, database, etc ... not to mention all those bloated Adobe crap.)

Lahat ng OS susceptible sa virus. Windows, however, suffers from monoculture. There are just too many Windows users that it is more susceptible to the same attacks.

Ano kayang mobo yun? Mine only came with Trend Micro.
