I sold my Custom MicSis Strat to (partially) buy an engagement ring and wedding rings.
OT: I will never understand this tradition. It feels like a ripoff, even after all these years. Or maybe it's just human nature to place much value in something so shiny.
Granted, cost of labor and skill, but as with most artisan stuff, economies of scale apply, thus these jewellers deliberately choose costly supplies to sell a costly product, at profit. Then again, the reason why jewels are a ripoff, is because of legitimacy. Don't mind if that shiny crystal is cubic zirconium - if it isn't a diamond, it's not a diamond and it's not worth much, period. Only jewellers and chemists would know the difference really, coz to the naked eye, it's just shiny.
Anyway, that's the world we live in, congratulations bro
