7 String or Downtuned 6 String Guitar

       Current setup ko is 6 String na naka C tuned.
       Just tried a 7 string and ok din, parang mas marami ako magagalawan in terms sa riffs. pero dahil di pa ako sanay nangangapa pa.
   
       Balak ko bumili uli ng guitar, pero napapaisip ako kung 6 string pa rin o mag 7 string na ako..... TIA
       ( PS: yung mga compo namin is more on riffs, di maadlib. )

go for 7 strings, mas maganda ang harmonic ng lower 3rd, pag rhythm, mas makapal & matapang

If you're doing a cover of a particular song with particular fingerings for a downtuned 6-string instrument, go for the same. Otherwise, 7-string guitars are pretty neat.

I once tried to do drop-d covers of some popular songs using a Floyd Rose-equipped 7-string guitar and a harmonizer effect set to perfect 5ths, which simulated the sound of a power chord. It worked pretty well for that IMHO, but other people might feel different.

     Bale gagamitin ko po siya for compositions, nung una akong gumamit ng 7 strings nakakapanibago talaga dahil  malapad ang fretboard.
     Ang napansin ko lang talaga is makapal at mabigat ang tunog.

     Pero in terms sa laro ng strings, parang mas relax ang daliri ko dun sa 6 strings na naka downtuned.

For original stuff, I'd personally go 7-string (my only guitar right now is a 7).

Some things to consider:
1. There will be an adjustment period which, depending on how determined you are, will take some time.
2. Depending on the model, some 7s are made with a different scale length than 6s, although if it were the case the manufacturer will state it clearly. This affects feel and sound, but may not be such a big issue for you.
3. Pay a little extra attention to individual string outputs, and adjust as necessary. The 7th string is thicker, has more metal, and is therefore naturally more magnetic than the thinner strings.

I'd personally go for a 7 as it gives you more space to play with.

In terms of creativity, the number of strings change your approach in composition and improvisation. Therefore, it is good to have both.

I'd go with a 7 string, more range for the 7th string is pretty neat for riffing.
