. Been a lurker and had just been reading what I can to educate myself about drumming and equipment.
I intend to buy a kit this year and I'm leaning towards a Tama Superstar.
barabbas (Mr. Carlo Morales) or anyone who's very familiar with Tama products, may inquiry ako regarding sa wraps ng Tama. Pwede malaman ang mga katangian at pagkakaiba ng
Duracover at
Unicolor wraps? More particularly, of the material itself?
On the aesthetic side, the catalog and their site already clearly show that the Duracover wraps have more elaborate designs/colors than the Unicolor wraps.
Functionally speaking, one can surmise, based on the wrap name alone, that one would seem to be more durable than the other. Is this really the case? That a Duracover wrap can stand better than a Unicolor wrap assuming they are both subjected to the same amount of abuse (
I'd think more accidental than intentional) during their lifetime (
of use, transport, and whatnot)? Or would both kind of wraps fare equally?
Based on prices posted at Guitarcenter.com (
you've mentioned in some post before that people can check this site's prices as reference for local pricing?), a Duracover wrapped Superstar is about US$200 more than a Unicolor wrapped one. Is this because the composition of the Duracover material is technically more special than the Unicolor one? Or are they just basically the same material with the Duracover just being slightly more expensive because they have more elaborate designs/colors (and hence, the wrap is harder to manufacture (from whomever supplies Tama with the wraps))?
Pardon my fuss with the Tama wraps. Just wondering. Information you (or anyone) can provide will help me (or others) decide if I'd go with the Snow White Pearl (Duracover) or the Sugar White (Unicolor)
. Or spend or save the price difference
Maraming salamat.
