Hi All,
Help me pick a guitar between Epiphone SG G-400 or Ibanez RG/RGA. I'd like to play metal songs with tones of Black Sabbath, Slayer, Pantera. But also would like the guitar to have some clean bluesy tones like the planet caravan, ledzep.

Yep. SG.

Gitarakista just made a price drop of his Goldea AT-15 which tempts me to buy it but I think some other got interested of it. Ang hirap ng maging isang buyer from Visayas. Nauunahan lagi.  :-(

Advice ko lang..

If you have 9k for a tube amp, wag mo i-exhaust lahat nun.. Dapat lagi ka may nakatabi na extra 2-3k.. You'll never know when those tubes will die or suddenly crap out, kailangan may emergency funds ka for new tubes.. I'm not saying anything bad against Goldea, pero generally, yung mga murang tube amps, hindi kagandahan ng stock tubes. Kalimitan yun agad ang nagffail.

Wala bang music stores jan sa area niyo?

My budget is P25K max with the "basbas"  :-D from my wife   :?

I've inquired na sa GuitarPusher, and would like to try the EPI SG Worn, or the Tony Iommi SG. But a friend luthier is suggesting that I get an Ibanez RG.

agree ako sa SG. but if I were you and I had the cash for a RGA, I would go with the RGA.  :)

Meron naman. The only tube amps they sell are  Peavey Royal 8 worth 8K, Goldea AT-30 worth 16K+ ata, and then VHT special 6 combo worth 12.5K. Those are the only choices. I tried the Royal 8. Doesn't seem to go along with my taste. 8-inch speaker lang din. Nothing much.

Already saw this noon. I was freakin' lol with his Aussie accent. Maganda siguro mag duo sila ni Marco Ho aka Bogart the explorer.

MXR Micro Chorus or Analog Chorus of the same brand? Natry ko na yung micro chorus and that's a chorus sound or "voice", if you may, na gusto ko. Pero siyempre ang thing is 1 knob lang ang micro, and the analog has way more "adjustability". Ang tanong ko is kung same lang ba sila halos ng "voicing" and knobs lang ba ang lamang ng analog chorus? Or are they two totally different sounding choruses?

Epiphone SG G-400 pro or LTD EC-256?

Both have coil tap, but the SG will have more tonal options because of the 4 knob configuration. The neck should also be considered since the SG will have a D shape (not sure if slim taper) while the EC will have a thin U shape. Personally I'd get the EC-256 since I mainly use Eclipse. The G-400 ain't bad too. I actually sometimes use an Epiphone G-400 during gigs as my main axe.

EDIT: Just wanted to add. I believe EC-256's are made in Vietnam, so should also check the overall quality of the EC. Having owned two EC-256's MIV before, I wasn't happy with both.

zt lunchbox(200W) vs kustom kg112fx, kustom kg210fx, kustom kg212fx vs laney lg35, laney lx35?

nga pala yung amp na hanap ko kasi yung versatile.. yung pwede pang blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal, thrash metal to death metal at stompbox friendly din! thanks!

San mo gagamitin?

Yun yung ideal speaker size for an amp na balance yung buga ng frequency niya.

For assurance, dapat around 60 watts higher pag solid state guitar amp so as not to be overcovered by the drums. At least, may headroom ka rin. Studio wise, the KG112FX can hold sa studio pero dapat hinay hinay lang yung drummer. Why not get the Stagg 65R na lang kaya? 12 inch speaker, 65 watts, with effects loop, 2 channels.

i have a stagg guitar amp (40W) from TMS.. ok naman yung tunog and when it comes to durability ok din.. 2 years na sa kin yung amp and
i think it is a good amp for a low budget.
