I've owned several TC Electronic pedals. I've owned a Vintage Delay (a rebranded T-Rex Replica, which is for sale, by the way), a Nova Delay and a Nova Reverb. I can't say anything negative about TC products. They're sturdy, easy to use, and most importantly, they deliver good tone :)

Uy Rey! Balita? Musta na si JSX? I bought SPI's album. Great tunes, bro. I loved the Survivor-inspired track. Di ko lang maalala yung title hehe.
God bless din, bro!

Hello bro. Life's great here. Kaw musta na? JSX is doing great. Finally had it switching through the G-System (and finally ginagamit ko na preamp dirts niya so goodbye PODxt Pro na ako hehehe).
Uy salamat you got an album (the old one or the new one?). Kung yung luma, I think yung "Life Goes On" ang tinutukoy mo sir. Kung wala ka pa nung new one, give me your home adress and I'll mail your copy na lang. Thank you and God bless you...

Its a distortion pedal that is voiced to emulate the dirt channel of mesa recto (http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t35/kamote26/rolexmunit.jpg)
I'm planning on getting one. Then loop it in the G-System.

kamusta pla yung g-system malaki kaya yung difference ng modulation and other effects nya sa nova system...kamusta din yung drive section nya??...yung sa nova system kasi parang kulang basta di ko gusto... yung overdrive din di rin ganun kaganda pro pwede nadin pang blues

Di pa ako nakagamit ng Nova System so I can't say. What I know though is the G-System is designed na walang drive para yung user na ang bahalang maglagay ng drive of their choice. In that way you won't be stucked in the onboard drive (like the nova system).
According to Mr. Steve Vai, mas ok ang G-System over G-Force, G-Major and Nova System in terms of effects and pagiging user friendly nito. He even revamped his rig down to a G-System and a few pedals na lang.

I like my Nova Delay. Pretty user-friendly once you get used to it. Onboard modulation and the repeats for the controls, as well as the analog/tape modeling, helps me get some very pleasing shoegazer sounds. :-D The two footswitches can be a bit 'slow,' though.

Ala pang updated na pics since nag-quit na akong mag-gig.
Delay nga ito. Hmmm. Ano kaya kaibahan sa Flashback. More types of delay pa yung nakikita ko. Wala sa Flashback.

TCE Nova Repeater user here! I am really liking it. I haven't really gotten to use (much less explore) its full potential though. I use it mainly for my leads just to add some repeats. I think the Flashback Delay would be good enough na rin for my purposes but Musician's Friend had this cheap during one of their sales (got it only for Php6700 from jefisipbata; thanks Cayle sa pagtimbre sa akin na may sale) so I got this one.
Highly recommended! :) I noticed the difference in having this instead of my Digitech Digidelay in my tone. This one made my distortion pedals sound bigger and fuller. It kinda compressed my tone (but not too much) in a good way!
I'd like a Nova Modulator though for phaser and chorus effects. If go that route, I'd be selling the EHX chorus. :P

Bro, this IS the best route ----------------------------> G-SYSTEM :-D Tapos lagay mo sa loops ng Gsys yung mga analog pedals mo tapos 4 cable method sa Mesa mo FTW :-P

Hey bro!

I'm currently using the VoiceLive 2 in live situations for that superb backing vocals and "Auto -Tuned Lead Vocals" a la Cher/T-Pain for our fast/dance songs. Sa ballads, the reverbs and delays are very helpful.
Plug your guitar sa VoiceLive 2 and get your effects there for your acoustic guitar, at the same time you are triggering what notes or key para sa harmonies mo. And the looper feature...nuff said :)

A joint collaboration between TC Electronic and Pro Guitar Shop, the Alter Ego Delay is a new take on the very successful TC Electronic Flashback. Featuring two new presets modeled after a couple classic delays: the Binson Echorec, and the EHX Deluxe Memory Man. "

Post by: curiousdcat on February 14, 2013, 07:06:43 PM
Hi all,
I just got a Nova Repeater (sorry that should have read "Modulator") and would like to ask for help on how to adjust mix (wet and dry) levels for Presets and Manual modes. I can't seem to find such instructions in the manual and am hoping someone could teach me how to before I get frustrated and sell the thing!
Thanks in advance!
Title: Re: TC ELECTRONIC Guitar Effects

^^Could anyone help please? I would really like to find out how to make the effects more subtle when needed. :)
Also for other Nova pedal users, especially the Nova Modulator - I'm noticing a volume drop whenever I engage the Chorus. I learned from research that calibrating gain input level might help. However, I am a bit confused with the instructions in the manual. It says I should turn on all boosters and sound-attenuating pedals placed before the NM-1. However, there was a note at the end of the same page that says I should then play the "loudest" during the calibration process which TCE defined as being clean since it had more dynamics. I don't get it. Doesn't that negate the previous instruction of turning on all boosters, ODs and Distortion peds?
Any input, opinion and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot! :-)

Hi guys, maybe you could help a Nova Mod noob here? After more than 2 decades of playing, this is my first ever multi-effect floor ped and I am having problems completely liking it because of some setting issue I cannot solve. Here they are:

Hi curiousdcat!! im also a Nova Mod user 1-2 months pa lang got it non calibrated At first frustated din ako sa manual niya but reading it while playing helps!!!
now for your qa, about calibrating the gain (not sure) when i got the pedal it isnt calibrated on how my gear/pedalboard is set at first it suckd all my tones and not really happy but if you turn to page32 "calibrating input sensitivity" i felt really happy. Press and hold manual button for 5 sec. The iilaw yung 5 green LEDs tapos turn on your ACTUAL GAIN SETTING yung ginagamit mo na highest not meaning TODO lahat ok malaki pagkakaiba nun. Like me i use boosters and ODs and gainy pedals BEFORE my MODULATOR then strum as hard as you can i mean yung lilitaw yung volume at max setting mo. Sakin nawala lahat just so it means the pedal can accomodate the dirts and boost i throw at it at the highest level ng settings ko. And it works just fine.
Ano pa ba? hmmmm basta basahin mo maigi. If the instruction is hard for you to intake wag ka mahiya mag ask sa mga kakilala mo for help.

Haha Thanks, man! I hope that solves everything. The sticker you mentioned is still inside the plastic pouch it came in left unopened since I wasn't sure if I would be keeping the ped. I guess, it's now time to open it up. Thanks again! :)

Tsaka mo i callibrate.

@ pie-key
Found the sticker you were talking about. Apparently, only the tri-chorus has a functional mix knob.
Perhaps, you could just give me tips as to how to make the effect sounds more subtle and less prominent? I find them too strong for my taste. I'm trying to make it sound like the effect/s is/are almost inaudible.
Thanks a lot, man! :)

Polytune and polytune minis does not use the same switche compared to other TC products.

Most of the effects sound really great however, if you are like me who only wants very, very (almost inaudible) effect volume, the very nice effect qualities of the Modulator may be too overpowering.
TC peds are available at JB Music or courtesy of your friendly neighborhood PhilMu importers. There are also a couple of Modulators available in the Classifieds now.

I have a TC Electronic Flashback Delay and I noticed lately that when it's set to Looper may it be engaged or not, it sucks tone. At first I suspected that it was my PSU or my other pedals.
To those who have flashback delay, have you experienced same as mine? dahil kung hindi malamang may damage na TC ko

To those who have flashback delay, have you experienced same as mine? dahil kung hindi malamang may damage na TC ko
never experienced this with my flashback and x4. may switchable buffer sa likod ng pedal, have you tried checking that out?

hello TC Users! Question po: The tap tempo switch of the nova system does not function like a normal tap tempo where it responds to the down strokes... instead, the moment you lift your foot as per TC forums.
Pwede po kayang gamitin ang kahit na anung ext. tap tempo like fs5u kasi hirap ako lalu na i need dotted 8ths lagi for church use... my nova system's version is 1.12 may update po ba to resolve this issue?
Please advise po.... salamat!

Had a nova system for almost a year, di ko naman napansin ito, pwede mo naman piliin yung beat division ng delays in relation to the tap tempo for dotted eights. Apakan mo nalang ng mabilis? afaik it's when you're changing patches that the footswitches respond only when you lift your foot from the fs

im having the same problem with the tap tempo, it responds to when i lift my foot not when i step/tap on it.
Di pa po sir.. I don't have midi tools and interface yet... i might end up selling it :-( Mali expectations ko sa Nova System
sayang :) i always loved my nova system, almost didn't want to sell it. That said, i don't regret letting it go. madami kang mabibili sa benta mo

have you tried calibrating it? baka kasi hindi sila match? meron kasing calibration function ang NOVA, yung Nova Modulator ko meron, before you start playing and plugging kina-librate ko muna, kasi kapag hindi match yung INPUT gain mo sa Nova it will suck lotsa volume. Nasa manual naman siguro

Ordered it via pao2pao16 of Pedallion Gears. Awesome guy! Arrived in 2 weeks. :-) http://www.facebook.com/pedals4sale (http://www.facebook.com/pedals4sale)
Still tweaking for a suitable ambient kind of reverb.... Amp's built-in reverb sounds nice though a bit noisy that's why I opted for a separate reverb pedal.

Enjoy!

hi guys,
I own a Nova Repeater and very happy with it.
joel_marcelo referred this gem to me. GAS ender daw sa delay pedals for him. I tried it and now I agree with him. lol
It sounds great from the "classic" delay sounds to shoegaze tones.
One of my favorite settings now is (for me, applicable to pag hindi nagbabago yung key ng song):
Spillover - On Range - 3rd Type - Studio Division - The last one (dunno what its called lol) Feedback - All the way to the right Tone - 2 o'clock Mod - 9 o'clock (vib) FX - 2 o'clock
I would play the first note of the song, let the repeats ring and turn the effect off. The spillover will make it sound like a synth playing in the background. yeah.

Example, nagset ako ng 350ms at mix the knobs then save it to P1. Di ba pwedeng parang dd20 na naisasave lahat woth its millosecond? Owned a dd20 before. :-(

I think your presets are using the pedal's global tempo. To change it to "preset tempo", go to each preset individually and hold the type button. Once the led light on the preset button is blinking, you’re all set. Just don't forget to save the preset again.

then what happens is, system freezes and I got a blinking Led display and blinking ENTER
All i can do is just unplug the power cord then replug it.. im unable to edit patches.... baka sa PC Suite Vyzor nalang...

Issue was resolved by updating/reloading the software. :-D superb effects!
(Roland JC80)
2. kapag nag send/return ako, dapat po ba yung OD at DS pedals ko in front of the amp or it stays sa effects loop ng G System?
Thanks!

Hahhaa! Tagal ko na tong di nareplyan.. Thanks sir rey! =)
I went from G System to: 1. HD500X 2. 36x16 analog board 3. M13 plus M9 plus analog dirt pedals 4. HD500
Then I wanted to go smaller setup and now I'm back to Nova SYstem... I tested 3 different nova systems in a week with 3 different forumites and finally got 1 working from sir Moncseb...
Tips to all: no offense but As per TC Electronics Forums: Nova Systems with serial numbers 8940627 to 8941536 have bad chipsets and freezes randomly which I have experienced... and other units have problems with the tap tempo.. Try to tap and the moment you lift your foot, led light blinks.. I just cant believe it that the nova delay tap tempo works well and the nova system doesnt.. 3 Nova systems I tested captures the tempo the moment you lift your foot not when you tap down..

Hello TC owners!
I got my flashback x4 last week... my 1st TC pedal and my 3rd stompbox after shying away from my multifx. Just to make it short, it was no contest when pitted with my multifx modulation modes. I jumped on it right away even though I read on some foreign forums that there were reliability issues with tc switches...
...but then again (in foreign forums) people tend to blow up issues so it would be better if I just ask local owners.... did you ever have issues with their tc products?
I am looking into 2 more of their products so I would be grateful if I learned more about them as I find the ideas they put into their products very interesting.... Thanks!

I agree, last week I played at a gig with my band and used a Flashback playing through a Blackstar HT stage 100 4x12.
first time I actually "felt" and really appreciated the Analog setting/preset of the pedal. and it also convinced me to get a tube amp for gigging. lovin the toanz I got.

Exactly! I always just used the 2290 or the MOD Setting on the pedal. I thought the Analog and Tape settings were useless, but then, I played it through a Fender Twin Reverb through a Strat and a Transparent OD and I just felt the unity of the whole chain. whew.
kudos to TC for this. now definitely gassing for the X4 for those rhythmic delay patterns!

nope.
the audited price list indicated "below cost" beside the promo price. Which sums up to more loss for the company because there's of the staff's salary, the OPEX, etc. Of all the brands, TCE incurs the most expensive shipping cost because they don't have a hub for Asia and for the rest of the world.
You can always pay for the taxes and shipping expenses if you purchase online (SweetWater, Musican's Friend, etc).

hof 2 and flashback 2 are great pedals but not worth it for an upgrade if you already own the 1st versions. if it is your 1st purchase, then the 2nd version is the way to go.
