This might be one of those one song things. Anyway, it's great to have them play together again, Floyd is undeniably at their best (at least for me) with that lineup. Hopefully their grudges would have waned by this time which might lead to a new PF album with Roger Waters of course.

Syd is done. he's staying away from the limelight that brought him where he is right now.

In the flesh (cyber flesh that is).

Ummagumma.... Waters' "Small furry animals..." on that album is definately unforgetable in a weird sense.



Setlist for me will be:

"In the Flesh" - to start things out
"Dogs"
"Pigs (Three Little Ones)"
"Time"
"Keep Talking"
"Have a Cigar" (Waters might pull this one off vocally)
"Comfortably Numb"

Tough to choose. There's too much good music.

I've read that all songs the Floyd will perform at Live8 will be from Dark Side...and that they'll get about 20 minutes.

Syd is somewhat better in recent years, from what I read, but I don't think he has any desire to get involved with music again. It does seem that, like sufferers of Aspergers syndrome, Syd doesn't care much about issues that do not directly affect him....so Live 8 just wouldn't be the motivator it is for some other artists.

I was expecting them to perform last in Live8 so I didn't really bother to watch the other artists perform. When I woke up at around 8 am, I checked out if it's already their turn. I guess I was a few seconds early so I saw some other group perform then it's Pink Floyd time.

As expected Roger Waters was there. He sang half of "Wish you were here". He looks enthusiastic. Gilmour, Mason, and Wright weren't as excited as him though.

Anyway, they performed the following songs:

Breathe
Money
Wish you were here
Comfortably Numb

I forgot if "Money" or "Wish you were here" came first but anyway, it was an ok set.

Jc what do you mean it was an ok set? IT WAS FREAKIN' AWESOME MAN!!!  :D

I was dumbfounded. You've got Waters and Gilmore on the same stage for the first time in a quarter century. I had to fight back a tear or two while watching them play "Wish You Were Here"

Yeah, I was really surprised by how happy Waters looked to be playing with the band. Roger was WAY into the whole thing. It's too bad Gilmour didn't seem as into it.

That "group hug" at the end was priceless, as was his remark about playing "with these three guys" statement before WYWH ... and Syd's picture during said song.

The Live 8 stage didn't do Pink Floyd justice IMHO. Anyway, the 4 of them playing once again is nothing short of awesome.

no [gooey brown stuff]? show me the article where he said that. i thought they had a good time. I heard that there were some arguments backstage between waters and gilmour.

Yes unfortunately. I’d love to see them do more together, but Live 8 is a fitting finale for the Floyds.
