Good to hear that someone mentioned the EBP, one of the TS parameters na dapat nating malaman in selecting drivers, but there are more TS parameters that we need to know such as QTS, BL and Xmax, especially in dealing with folded horn cabinets such as this WSX, 186, eL36 etc.
Since folded horn boxes got small front chambers you need drivers with higher the BL and xmax and a lower QTS. BL means how strong driver motor is, the larger the BL value the stronger the driver the better it can control the cone. The higher the BL the bigger the magnet. QTS is the total strength of the driver motor and the magnet but its opposite of BL. Low QTS value means bigger magnet and better cone control. Xmax is the maximum overhung of the voice coil. Pag sumasayad na voice coil means maliit xmax nya. For folded horn bins the higher the xmax the better. Thats the reason why folded horn design box has higher spl compared to reflex or front loaded speakers.
Very important ang TS parameters in selecting drivers for certain speaker box design, na malimit nababaliwala natin, we always tend to put what ever drivers na meron tayo, ang isa pa e karamihan sa mga affordable na china drivers e walang TS parameters so you dont know if the driver will perform properly on your box.
