Nope. But even a seasoned musician can be fooled if you were using an amp sim. It's more or less how you use the stuff. If your home studio sounds good and well-soundproofed go for a miked amp (given you have an awesome amp). If not, go for amp sims.

Although wala pa rin talagang tatalo sa totoong feel/bayo ng miked amp for recording since you'll always have headroom for some tones. Nowadays medyo convincing na yung mga amp sims. Even though amp sims are convenient, try to learn how to mic and amp properly din.

In the end if the song you are writing is well-arranged, sounds good, and properly mixed it doesn't matter what kind of amp you use.

Amp sims are also convenient if you want to record late-night demos. :)

Most amp sims go out there to mimic the sound of a real physical amplifier. In theory, at best, they can sound virtually identical. But better is a slippery term -- a moving target, so to speak.
