Need recommendations for Portable PA System
« on: September 18, 2007, 08:25:44 AM »
Friends, I'm looking for a portable PA system to use for my acoustic group's (Jook Jam) gigs.  We currently use a Marshall AS100D acoustic amp (2 mic inputs/2 gtr inputs, etc.); it's ok but I'd like something more portable (bag, rollers); elevated and more powerful, bigger speakers; and more channels. Something we can use in a big, noisy room or open air if needed.

My specs/criteria:
- good sound (from amp and speakers)
- affordable (around 25-40k+)
- at least 6 channels
- as much watt power and features as possible for the price (ie, cost effective... for those who understand the English language... ;-) )
- comes w/ speaker stands
- portable (luggage, roller type preferred)
- extra mics would be nice but I already have one Senn vocal mic, and 2 Samson condenser cardioid mics for instruments, pati mic and music stands meron na.

Usual suspects are the portable systems from Peavey, Fender, etc. but I've not seen or heard the new Yamaha ones (sold out na ata sa Yamaha/PP) or those from Behringer.  Please share your experience or thoughts on these systems.

PS - I'd much prefer to trade instead of buy new/2nd hand. So in case someone has one and would like to trade for the Marshall AS100D, or guitars for sale, pls PM me.
