Sound Card Problem! pls. help
« on: November 27, 2008, 11:49:47 AM »

what can you guys advice?

pag bumili ba ko ng bagong sound card then plug it in, ok na ba yun?
or baka kaya naman gawan ng paraan?

thanks! god bless!

Please tell me you didn't connect your amp's speaker outs to the pc's line in. If so, then your pc's audio chip is fried.

"Speaker Out" is different than "Line In" diba ser? i remember dati we had an amp with a Line In, and connected that to the PC, and it went smoothly naman.

may na install ka bang software na maaaring nag alter ng settings ng sound driver mo...

i had the same problem din kasi nung plug ko yung g2.1u sa pc tapos install ko yung ASIO for g2...naging default sound yung ASIO...took me an hour to figure that out...

Try uninstalling your sound card then reinstall. Right-click My Computer, choose Properties, under Hardware tab click Device Manager, under Sound, Video & Game Controllers, right-click your sound card and choose Uninstall.

Reboot.

When Windows starts, it should start looking for the driver of your sound card again (new hardware found). If Windows cannot find the driver, just insert your motherboard cd and reinstall the driver (kung built-in sya), or your sound card's cd kung add-on sya.

Kung walang "new hardware found" after reboot, baka sunog nga. But check mo muna baka for some reason na-disable sa BIOS yung sound controller mo. Refer to your motherboard manual on how to enable your sound controller sa BIOS.

Line out should go to line in.

Motherboards have a line out which is usually connected to powered (computer) speakers. Very rarely do present day motherboards have speaker outs for direct connection to unpowered speakers.

Guitar amps sometimes have a speaker out jack used for connecting to another speaker cabinet - the speaker out carries the full wattage of the amp and it will burn out any line input. Never ever connect the amp's speaker outs to anything but a speaker cab. Some guitar amps have a specified line output which should go into line level inputs like mixers or soundcards.

mukhang pareho kami ng kutob ni kitC...

guitar amp > line out or recording out or headphone out> soundcard line input (ung blue)

guitar amp > speaker output > soundcard line in = MAXIMUM overdrive.

then again kung nasira yung line input ng soundcard, dapat meron pa din audio yung outputs kasi input stage lang ang nasira. pwede mo din ikabit ang microphone just to check kung pwede pa yung mic in.

nawala ba yung audio after recording from the guitar amp?
