Carbs are very complex. I eat a fair amount of carbs before I work out. (an hour before or so). It burns easily and fast. Ang problema sa carbs pag hindi mo na-burn, nagiging starch and starch turns into sugar which then helps store fat cells (arghh).
Oo nga pala drinking alcoholic drinks is also a no no, if you want to lose weight. Kahit ano, no exceptions. Alcohol kasi is a toxin. So uunahin i-process to ng body natin, most likely the liver. Yung food na kinain natin habang umiinom, hindi napa-process, so it becomes fat (another arghh).
If you like rice, eat brown rice. If you love bread get the "Whole Grain".
Anything whole grain has lots of fiber and helps in digestion.
I don't like the low carb diet which you find the 'glycemic index' or carbohydrates. You stay away from the highest index and take in the lowest ones. Its tedious and boring.
Pag madali kang magutom, eat nuts. lots of it. Its ok. Wag lang yung masyadong maraming asin. Almonds and cashews are two of the best. Pecans however is on the top, kasi it has natural antioxidants and you can add this to your salad for the crunch that you're looking for.
Oo nga pala, para mas maganda sa katawan, I prefer the garden mix (spinach, lettuce and leafy greans). Kasi pag Caesar mix, maraming cabbage (it expands your stomach - eto ang kinakain ng mga sumasali sa Food eating contests like Kobayashi). Though its not fattening (I just don't like Caesar's salad, its boring).
Flax seed also helps.
Wheat nga pala, when stored turns into yeast, to starch and so on.....
Alam mo merong alternative sa kamote, Yung alam natin na kamote pag kinain natin, spikes up the sugar level sa katawan natin. Merong yung maliliit na kamote. That's good too. Don't fry it though.
Boil or steam. Then add spices you love, with minimum salt.
If you can't eat a lot, satisfy your cravings with 'flavor' instead.
