I wanna discipline myself to practice at least 2 hours everyday.  There's nothing wrong with technique.  If you have a cool lick in mind but can't pull it off cleanly, sayang.  Same with a groove.  If you got this Horacio El Negro type of rhythms in your head but just can't do it..practice it slowly, and cleanly, patiently...then when you can kick it to the 2nd gear, pump more gas, then shift...then shift!..its cool to be fast!

I wish I could have more time.  It's hard having enough time on your hands when you've got some hobbies too, or working or studying,..etc. 

plus!  when you got a girl...she needs your time too.

my testimony to that....i was hard on pulling off the paradiddles. i was advised by someone to start very slow...since our brain would not absorb what our body does instantly so to counter that, you have to start very slow until your brain familiarizes itself and you're able to pull it off even while sleeping...

now, i can say that i'm better because of that....so will they

If i were you, mag set up ka ng practice pad sa room. Check mo ginawa ko- lostambolista.multiply. kasi work is 10-7. most of the time, overtime pa. then syempre quality time with gf. minsan inom pa kasma mga kaibigan. kung baga, when you're alone..you spend it with your "sanity keeper." wag ka nalang matulog..pumalo ka nalang at rumatrat ng double peds sa pads! hahahahaha

dinadala ko siya sa band practice, since ang practice namin 5 hours a week...i can still spend quality time with my gf

-may pampakalma ka pag nasira gamit mo while practicing 

or pag date talaga...ang practice namin sa midnight, which is ok..dahil after nun inuman

If you can't find ample time to practice on kit or pad, at least find some time to immerse youself to the music that you want to learn to play. You can do this during office hours, while traveling, or even when just chilling out with your girlfriend in a cafe or at home.
Eventually you will subconsciously learn a song without even noticing.

I agree with you, bro.
May God forgive me, but I have prejudice with people who dont appreciate any kind of music. Music proves the existence of the human soul, its universal. I see no reason for someone to be ungrateful of having a musician partner. 

Edit: Oh yeah,...maybe she simply doesn't like the music you're playing, or you're too involved with your "own" passion.

in my case, she does. she even attended my gigs kahit nun nanliligaw pa lang ako.

nagkakatalo lang sa priorities yan, sa will, sa discipline at time.

pano po ba magandang practice so double bass? or improving your speed/control/stamina sa double bass playing?
