The Wuhan Chinas are great.  They're the real deal!  These are authentic China cymbals, so you get that authentic, biting, trashy, China cymbal sound.  And the nice thing about it is they are not that expensive, comparing to the top brands.  Just be extra careful with Wuhans; it's not designed for durability.

Maganda pa siya kaysa sa Zildjian IMO.  Trashier especially with the 18", 20" and 22" versions.

Pero ingat dahil manipis.  I have two 20" Wuhans arriving in September - one for me and the other for my bud.

kung may nagbebenta sayo, i suggest pakinggan mo muna.

i used to have a wuhan china din, napaka-trashy ng sound. kaso nangailangan ako ng metronome kaya yun, napang-trade ko.

peace!

ive been trying to reply to your message kaso di ka daw makita.

di ko masasabing mas mura, minsan kasi pag nagsale sila talagang bagsak.pero ang laban ko sa ibang stores eh i can get you the cymbals that they dont carry or they dont stock. siguro mas mahal lang ng konti or mas mura di ko rin masabi.ganito give me a list of the cymbals that you wish to get, pos i'll give you a quotation.
if you wish to get cymbals from ebay, i suggest you bid for yourself pos have it shipped na lang to our address in the US pos charge na lang kita ng cost kung magkano padala dito sa manila.

if you have further questions  email me at vinci@pldtdsl.net or txt me at 09175234726

a simple search sa google yeilded these results.
click here--->http://www.musiciansfriend.com/perc/navigation?q=wuhan

Title: Re: Wuhan..
Post by: plep on January 19, 2008, 10:36:54 PM

Title: WUHAN Cymbals coming soon @ Lazer Music
Post by: tedi on September 04, 2008, 09:12:22 AM
Wuhan cymbals are hand cast, hand hammered and hand lathed cymbals. Wuhan cymbals are made the same way they've been made for thousands of year. This process produces cymbals of excellent sound quality and durability. Wuhans are produced in a similar manor to Turkish cymbals but for a fraction of  the price. Wuhan cymbals are by far the best value in hand cast cymbals available. Check out Wuhan cymbals today and be surprised.

Lazer’s commitment to music industry really shows by bringing products that are truly outstanding with a price tag that we all can afford. So let’s support them in their movement in helping and improving fellow pinoy musikero’s life and sound…

Hmm.. Wuhan Cymbals! These are my new personal favourite cymbals after playing with my dad's vintage A Zildjians for more than 10 years. I've got an 18" China and 20" Medium Ride S series which are both flexible both in studio and live. Pakinggan nyo yung recoriding namin ng banda ko dito sa UK with these cymbals at http://www.myspace.com/thetamarins (click on tracks; she gets and miner blues.)

Alternatively, panoorin at pakingan nyo yung live recording video ko sa You tube. Yung 18" China and 20" Ride ay nasa parehong right side ng kit.

hope this sheds some light.

Wuhan 12" and 18" China cymbals = INSTA-GAS!!! I've shifted from Zildjian Orientals to a cost-effective option.

Went to Lazer's at Ali Mall last week, wala pa silang 12" China.

wala pa akong cymbal na nakikita locally made.. most likely china talaga gawa yun (as with everything else within an affordable low-price range)

oo nga, most probably sa china din gawa yung wuhans from lazer. though i'm still curious if it's really made by the same wuhan manufacturer who makes the traditional chinas. i tried to do some research, but i can't seem to find any info on this "new model" sold in lazer. didn't help that wuhan doesn't have an official site, so hindi pa rin talaga ako sure. is it possible that they labeled it as "wuhan" since it's probably made in wuhan, china? 'hope someone can enlighten us on this.

in any case, if it sounds good, the branding shouldn't stop drummers from buying it - especially since it's really affordable compared to other brands.

it was the actual reasoning behind the name since it was made in wuhan china, hence the brand "wuhan" cymbals! :-D

ay oo nga.  :-D what i meant was:

"is it possible that they ALSO labeled it as "wuhan" since it's ALSO probably made in wuhan, china?"

the main thing that many of us want to find out is if lazer's wuhan cymbals are made by the same manufacturer who's known for their traditional chinas.

oops, sorry haha! they don't have much info online, let alone the lazer staff having any ideas if their wuhans are the actual authentic wuhan traditional chinas (the one that neil peart had kinda stuff) but if by some lucky chance I stumble on some info i would try to get back to you on that..

Loved the 10' istambul splash i got too...

Again, it's all about yung velocity and dynamics ng pagpalo mo. If you listen to Hiromi Uehara's live rendition ng "Another Mind", you'll notice yung drummer hitting the china cymbal (and the rest of his gear) in a way na subdued na parang bumubulong kung kailangan, and full attack pag pa-crescendo parts. Great cymbal-work.

Size really won't matter since nasa musical application yan.

And tama is cholok3, have someone hit yung cymbals sa lahat ng areas nya and lumayo ka para marinig mo from a listener's vantage point.

Kaya the only way is to play-test.

P.S. I don't recommend boxed sets.

Used to be a WuHan S Series User here...
20in medium-heavy ride
16in med crash
14in med hats
10in splash
used it for 5 years..sa practice at sa gig..

18" ganda tumunog badtrip! haha!

Even with Zildjians, ilang beses ako pabalik-balik noon sa Salongas (hindi pa JB ang pangalan nung 70's) hanggang makahanap ako ng natipuhang tunog. Sa Wuhan (at Stagg), mas dapat maging mapili kasi napaka-inconsistent. Kaya the only way is to play-test.

P.S. I don't recommend boxed sets.

Used to be a WuHan S Series User here...
20in medium-heavy ride
16in med crash
14in med hats
10in splash
used it for 5 years..sa practice at sa gig..

18" ganda tumunog badtrip! haha!

Wuhan Cymbals Series
(Based on the testing I've done last sat)
*Comparison is only for reference(Based on my judgment)

Wuhan Brass Brilliant (Brass Alloy)
Counterpart Brand Model = Zildjian Planet Z = Paiste PST2 = Meinl HCS = Sabian Solar
Sound Description - A bit brighter but since it's a Brass Alloy it decays fast.
Opinion - For me it's better than the famous Planet Z. It decays longer than the usual Brass cymbals(especially SOLAR). Good entry level cymbals if you're considering to have one  and it's cheaper.

Wuhan RAW Series
Counterpart Brand Model = STAGG Vintage Bronze
Sound Description - It's Like buying a Stagg Vintage Bronze w/a Wuhan Brand. So Identical on looks and sound. It's Dark sounding w/ hint of projection.
Opinion - Well just like what I've said, if you wanna have Stagg VB with limited budget, go for these!

Wuhan Primitive Series
Counterpart Brand Model = Stagg Furia
Sound Description - Warm, dry and Trashy! Projects well.
Opinion - Winner in terms of value. Cheap but superb in quality. Also comes in wide variety of size so upgrade is a breeze.

Wuhan Brilliant Series and Polish Series

Counterpart Brand Model = STAGG Myra = Zildjian A Custom
Sound Description - Brilliant and Polish Series share the same sound characteristics, Bright and warm. They only differ in Finish. Brilliant Series has a figured pattern on the cymbal.
Opinion - The best Series in the WUHAN Line.  Crashable rides and bright crashes!
Polish Series
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v731/sandyman/P1030913.jpg)
Brilliant Series

Title: Re: WUHAN cymbals thread
Post by: sandythedrummer on August 11, 2011, 02:50:49 AM
Eto diff nila. Brilliant has figured finish yung tipong wavvy yung design ng surface. Mas makapal ren ng onti yung brilliant. Polish naman thinner weight sha then mas malalim lathing nya parang
avedis at malalim hammer marks.

Sa sound mas brighter yung brilliant then warmer yung polish.

My Wuhan Polish Ride is so great for Rock. Pingy ang washy! Kaya pag Hotel gigs, kailangan nyang ma Tame for more Jazzy/dryer sound.

Any Wuhan 8 splash users?

i had an 18" crash.. super loved the killer sound!! for me, it sounded more bigger - with a lot of trash!!
but the only thing i don't like was that it was not nice for the sticks.. easily chips my sticks even if not really bashing' it..
is it like that for all WUHAN cymbals?? :)

may pics ka vin? helpful yung telltale signs, at least alam what to look out for.

sa hi hats at crash, malalaman nyu po agad, yung generic pinagdikit ko yung hawak ng thumb ko sa edge (just like trying to break a piece of small stick or toothpick) yun napakadaling mabend, as in close to generic cymbal na

pero again yung big difference is walang hammering yung fake, as in lathing lang ,

ang tanong ko, Is it possible na maging magkaiba yung tunog nun kahit parehong model and size?
Tama ba??

So it means kpag bibili ng handmade eh mejo mahirap makahanap ng same sound and quality?

thanks mga idol.. need your opinions.. :D

ang tanong ko, Is it possible na maging magkaiba yung tunog nun kahit parehong model and size?
Tama ba??

So it means kpag bibili ng handmade eh mejo mahirap makahanap ng same sound and quality?

thanks mga idol.. need your opinions.. :D

How is wuhan china compared to SH and DH chinas? Plan to buy SH or DH kasi but nung napasok ko 'tong thread na ito, magaganda naman ang reviews ng wuhans. Thanks! :-D

Sir, honest opinion ko lang po. Best sounding ang WUHAN CHINAs for me. as in legit sounding China talaga.

Hello Sir Mokie,

Best to send a message to sir "Mr.cLEEn"

Kaforum natin siya dito. I think he's a product specialist for LAZER.

Hope this helps bro!

Wuhan and Stagg are made in the same set of factories in the city of Wuhan, China. For example, I know for a fact that the Wuhan Lion and Stagg Traditionals are the same cymbal. I also suspect the stock Wuhan cymbals are the same as SH Staggs. Outside of that however, Lazer (Wuhan) and The Music Source (Stagg) have imported different lines, so you won't find the Wuhan equivalent of, for example, the DH or Myra series. So I got my Stagg Traditionals instead of Wuhan Lions because TMS had discounted them.

Maganda ang wuhan china sir, habang lumalaki, mas lumalakas at bumababa ang pitch nung cymbal.

natry ko na po bumili sa MF sir, pero ang wuhan, known to have consistency issues, so hindi magkakatunog ang cymbals nila. my advise sir, is to buy from LAZER nalang if you're located in the Philippines para matesting mo mismo yung cymbal na bibilhin mo :)

Okay ang MF kaso nga malulupog ka sa shipping fees. so para ka na ring kumuha sa lazer. so might as well diba hahaha also, sa 12 sir, sa tenga mo palang yan, pero in a band setting baka masyadong mahina na yan to cut through the overall mix.:)

Crash, ride at china yan.

ano bang hinahanap mo bro? yung SH, wala akong masasabi jan. believer ako niyan. yung wuhan steady lang. hopefully maganda yung gawa sa cymbal na yan kasi may consistency issue si wuhan. yung XS20, well... never ako naging supporter ng cymbals na may crack. kahit ano pang sabihin nila na "It doesn't affect the sound". gawin nalang platito.

Hi sir.

Primitive = K Hybrids ba?

Brilliant = A Custom?

Panalo yan sir. I've tried Wuhan China. 14" pa lang yun but napaka trashy ng tunog and very powerful. What more kung 20" yan.

For me, good and Wuhan for Chinas and more trashy type of music.
