Yup, tama yung setup nayan. Sa recording John uses Marshall JCM-900 sometimes he puts in sd-1 yata for boost I think pero I'm not entirely sure. Haven't talked to John for a couple of months medyo busy kasi sila.  8)

Question lang po?
« Reply #7 on: September 06, 2006, 09:23:38 AM »
guitar clinic from unknown guitar guy?

Just asking lang

In totallity kasing kalibre ba yan nila NOEL MENDEZ,PERF DE CASTRO at RONALD YUMOL?

There is a lot of aspects involved in playing. It would be cool if your guitar heroes taught you how they mix their amps, use their fx, how they mix em all up to get that sound not coming from their technique.

they are not as flashy as other well known guitar players :D pero sa tingin ko capable rin naman sila magheld ng clinic, kasi marami na rin silang followers and listeners (yung iba musicians din)...and kung papakinggan mo lahat ng songs nila (all songs from all their albums) and try to understand what they're doing magiging curious ka rin tulad ng mga nakikinig sa kanila...overall its not a matter of talent,it doesnt matter what they can do, i think the target of the clinic is they just like to share what they can share to other people including us and their followers, regarding tone, setup and gears that they use...pero okey sila eh lalo na si BOOGIE of DICTA LICENSE...may sense rin ang ginagawa nya pagdating sa fills...he even uses a CLAPTON SIG. Fender as his main AXE   ...he can do the blues, i actually saw him play those stuff...as for URBANDUB's JOHN DINOPOL, i like his concept on guitar playing...SOLID!!!

( o ayan in-EDIT ko na nakaplog na ako ni PROF. MARCO baka bumagsak pako sa subject nya hehe :D)

I think they were selected because of their unique style and set-up. We can always learn a thing or two from every guitar player that you meet. Even I try  to watch and maybe try to pick up some tricks kahit na sa mga street musicians may matutunan ka. I for one would say that John Dinopol is a very good guitar player. He's  very good in rhythm guitar and does lead well too. When we were bandmates back in college in a reggae band, John played rhythm and I played lead pero kahit rhythm lang sya ang ganda pakinggan ng rhythm parts nya dahil malinis at consistent. No offense to the other guitar players mentioned like Francis Reyes and Maestro Perf, but these guitar players holding the clinic are a different type of guitar players, their not the type that shred thru the guitar. Iba ang music nila at hindi bagay din lagyan ng shredding or complicated guitar solo's ang mga kanta nila. I don't think we should measure a good guitar player lang sa bilis ng kamay nila. just take a look at B.B. King, he admits he doesn't know how to play fast runs and ryhthm parts pero no one can play that one note vibrato like he does. and people remember him for that vibrato. 8)

hindi ko rin alam eh, yup totoo na nabaril sya dati napakamalng AKP kasi, pero eversince ganyan na talaga sya kumaskas nggitara, pero partly attitude yung style ng kaskas nya hehehehe, by the way magaling ding mag folk si john, naalala ko dati nung ninakaw yung acoutrstic nya sa locker ko, hindo na nabalik. we never new who stole that freakin guitar.

Sorry Dub fans but IMO the tones in all UD albums suck.  Very bad production skills.

Their compositions are great... very melodic rock... they are not the usual band na pa "EMO" ang dating... like Hale. Sponge Cola or Rocksteddy (ugh) and yes sagwa ng sound sa record... yan naman usually problem sa recording dito sa atin, tunog lata. Pero I think LIVE, ok naman sila..

i dont understand but their record is fine in terms of balanced signal and frequency. I dont know how else to judge a record. Well the songs and the production are 2 diffrecnt stories, their songs are good and they sing really good. vocal harmonies were good, though many of you maybe correct that it sounds to compressed but other than that, i dont see anything wrong with it.
