Anyone out there that can help me out? I need your advice, suggestions, tips and other worthy ideas. And also a word for the moderator if there's a duplicate thread please be kind enough to delete this....
I am on my early stages of playing the double pedal and my problem is my hi-hat. On some part of the songs for example the verse, I need it (the hi-hat) to be air tight close and in the chorus part I need the hi-hat to be open. How on earth can I do that, especially if the verse and the chorus requires me to play double pedal? In LIVE situation, what I do is to hit the open hi-hat softly in the verse part and hit harder on the chorus part, and I think doing that just didn't cut it right and not that effective in achieving the sound I really want. Another thing is I'm worrying about our upcoming recording wherein I really want that close hi-hat sound while playing the double pedal. Sorry but having two hi-hat stand is not really an option right now, and I just can't picture myself bringing my hi-hat cymbals and an extra hi-hat stand during a gig.
Can this thing help solve my problem? And will it be advisable to bring this to gigs?
