Reamp or DI in reverse?
« on: March 20, 2008, 08:17:41 AM »
Before I buy a reamp, I want to ask you guys kung ok ang DI in reverse.

Basically, I want to convert my line level to instrument level, para I could use my rackmounts together with my pedals, papunta sa tube amp.

bakit ka mag-re-reamp? pang-studio guys lang yun, hehehe... Play it again na lang.  8-)

di ko pa nasubukan ang DI reverse. DI's attenuate hiZ to line level, I don't know if there if connecting a line out to instrument IN and then feeding that to the amp will have appropriate impedance to drive the amp. try mo nga and let me know, paki-text na lang results, hehehe...

Studio stuff>> I leave to Kit (micr0chimp) hehe..

Ganito kasi ang iniisip kong live set up:

12 string bass (bass signal)>>  pedals >> Bass rig.
12 string bass (guitar signal) >> pedals >> DI >> Meyer EQ (for bass roll off)    >> REAMP >> Peavey Classic 30

I know, I know... too much goo, and too heavy to lug. Pero 'lam mo naman na 'feeling' rakstar tayo e. hahaha!

Feeling lang..  :-D

before I indulge, I vote this be moved to the Bass forum, hehehe...

are you biamping the 12-string? Is it bi-amp ready?

how about a single splitter (A/B with A&B)

12 string bass - splitter ()

splitter out 1 (bass signal) = to bass rig

splitter out 2 (guitar signal) = to Peavy Classic 30 (Meyer EQ via effects loop)

or get a Radial JD7 and drive up to 7 amps  :-D

I'd rather be sharp than flat.

Tried it with a PASSIVE DI.  In reverse.  Does wonders.  Use good cables and good converters though.  Your raw guitar tracks work best when normalized.
