of course i prefer originals.

but i do recognize pirated cd's as a necessary evil for a majority of Filipino music lovers.

about 70% of the cd's on my shelf are pirated. i only recently started buying original stuff when i started earning my own money. this is not to say, however, that i've stopped buying pirated.

i admit that a big factor is the price difference between pirated and original. (please check out related forum http://talk.philmusic.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=1359&highlight=piracy.) another is the selection.

my self-imposed rules on buying or not buying pirated cd's are:

1. never buy pirated cd's of fellow pinoy artists*
2. buy pirated if you really can't find an original copy
3. buy originals if you really can't find a pirated copy

of course who wants to buy (virtually?) stolen goods, right? but i think unless they make original cd's more affordable, people will continue to patronize piracy.

Foreign- Pirated... Yumayaman na sila sa sarili nilang bansa. Di nga nila alam na may mga fans sila sa pilipinas e. Tang ina nila kung umaasa pa sila sa pera natin.

Hindi natin masisi mga tao kung bumibili sila ng pirated kasi sa hirap ng buhay, kelangan unahin ang tiyan...pero sana wag naman Pinoy na produkto, yun lang

mahirap kasing bumili ng original cd's kung mahirap ka lang!

kapag yumaman na ako baka bumili na ako ng pirated cd's!

Original cassette tape muna (para medyo mura). Then if maganda ang mga kanta saka ako bibili ng original cd's. Tapos bebenta ko ung tape ng half price  :D

pinoy artists, dapat talaga orig. suportahan natin ang sariling industriya.
foreign artists, i would think twice. unless i really, really, really like the band.
