Author Topic: Help me identify these Sabian Hats! (Read 2917 times)

These are the hats from one of the studios in Gig Studios. Kent is the owner but he can't remember from which line are these. All he can remember is these originally came from Taiwan a couple of years ago. Surprisingly, they are still in prestine condition after years of abuse from the drummers renting the said studio. I fell in love with the sound of these hats but I don't know what model are they. Help would be greatly appreciated especially from those Sabian aficionados!

as i look at it and compare,

i think it is the SABIAN AA Regular Hats/Medium Hats
based on your images, the lathing is similar, hammering
and especially the traditional finish

i own one of these but the newer, recent model

Yes those are the AA regular hats. 80's era. They use that outlined font for the cymbal model. They are really nice! I had tried once before and its crisp, warm and clean sounding. They are comparable to Avedis new beat hihats.

exactly bro

for me, this hat model is underrated and often outshined by the AAX line

maybe its because of the somewhat-undesirable open sound.
but closed soundwise? the crisp and stick definition is really good

Hehe! OO nga, those are the best hats I've owned, all the qualities I'm looking for in a set of hihats, nandoon lahat, wala ako makita or marinig na unwanted tone, closed, open, half open, chick, stick sound, perfect for my ears! hehe! The HHX evolution hats!

Maganda ang AAX stage hats, its really a versatile model parang AAX version ng AA regular hats.

I haven't got a chance to own paragons, medyo makapal na kasi yun sa taste ko. I had tried some Legacy cymbals last year and they are also nice sounding cymbals, it has that buttery feel like the evolutions pero mas darker sounding, warm and trashy as well. Ok pang jazz, pero I don't play too much jazz kaya hanggang evolutions lang ang type ko.

ang tagal ko nang inaawitan kay Kent yang hats na yan, ayaw niya bitawan kasi ang tibay at ilang years na tumagal sa studio.

Hey mondi did you know that meron software pang monitor ng items for bidding then you can program it to enter your desired bid up to the last 2-3 seconds before closing. For example you can program it to automatically add say $5 to the Final bid

Although i forgot yung name ng program
