Yamaha MG 16/6 FX Low Gain Output
« on: June 02, 2011, 11:59:38 AM »
Good day, anyone who used a Yamaha MG 16/6 FX? I recently bought one, and I noticed mahina ung gain output niya, is it common among these mixers? I need to set the gain to 3 or 4 o'clock position bago sya magbato ng tunog from a mic, unlike Yamaha MX 12/4 which is an old mixer which only needs gain to be at 10 o clock to get the same level of sound im getting from my MG 16/6 FX which is set at 3-4 o'clock gain.

A friend of mine told me that Yamaha mixers today are like that and you need to "burn-in" the mixer, similar to "break-in" ng kotse, he told me our church's Digital Yamaha mixer was like that before, so he "burned-in" the mixer, and after sometime, he achieved the right gain. His advise is to "burn-in" one channel per week.

Is this really advisable? Can someone shed light unto this matter.

Thanks!
