typical characteristics are small Fender headstock style painted to match body color and the output jack is located at the side of the body instead of the front. bridge may or may not be traditional six-screw style. pickup config, fretboard and stuff will definitely vary. i have no idea about the body wood, though.

look beyond those deviations from traditional Fender specs and you've got a very nice guitar.

i used to have one. nice, scooped cleans. ganda ng tunog! very jangly strat sound. ganda pa ng gawa. you have one?

nah. meron ako and he's asking if usually may pickguard ba or wala yung function strat, kasi yung sa kanya wala. yung pickups parang emg's s/s/h pickups pero fernandes yung tatak.  maganda nga yung cleans nun and for heavy stuffs ang ganda. just thinking if it's customized or it's just the way it is?

i'm not really sure about the pickguard. mine had one eh. black pickguard, black pickups. i'm not sure if they came out with a version na walang pickguard. pero if it's a strat copy, dapat meron yan. pero yun nga, maganda talaga tunog eh, hehe. so ok na yun.

and the output jack of my (former) "the function strat" is located somewhere at the bottom end of the guitar. like les pauls and teles. does yours have a serial number at the neck plate?

Eto sample ng Function, pangit lang pics tska lefty siya.  S-S-H ang pickups tapos may coil split switch sa tone knob.  Eto ata pinakamabigat sa mga gitara namin. Medyo luma na pero ok pa rin tunog.

yan exactly ganyan same finish din. astig kala ko kinatay nung unang mayari tapos pinalitan yung buong body... may ganyan palang labas yung the function... sa bagay may labas rin na flying v the function akong nakikita sa net. ang bigat nga nung guitar sing bigat yung tunog... mapa cleans, od or for heavier stuffs.

ah may ganyan pala na lumabas na version, hehe. oo ambigat din nung akin dati. somebody know what body wood they used?

i think yung mga walang serial number yun yung mga mas modern na versions tapos yung may serial number yun yung mas luma... tama ba? hehe di ko lang sure.

hmmm.... wala pa akong nakitang lawsuit-era fernandes na may definite na serial number. kayo nakakita na?

mine had one. tanong nyo si grecoslave for the serial. engraved on the neckplate. basta Fxxxxx something yung serial eh. pero yung isa kong fernandes strat wala nang serial #. post lawsuit strat yun, iba na headstock.

Sa neck plate wala pero meron daw naka-stamp na serial number sa neck mismo.  Kailangan pa raw kalasin para makita pero ayaw pagalaw sa akin ni utol.

actually, meron din sa gitara ko. kaso di siya magagamit para ma-track yung authenticity or dating nung gitara. that's what i meant by definite. add the fact that Fernandes is legally bound from acknowledging the existence of some of these guitar models, well.... you get the picture.

yup, i don't think we can track the dating of the fernandes guitars via their serial kasi hindi naman ganon ka-rich yung history ng fernandes unlike sa fender or gibson or martin guitars. well at least we have an idea kung anong henerasyon ng fernandes yan, yung serialled ones vs. the non-serialled fernandes guitars. pero medyo makukulit din yung mga hapon eh no. hindi din yata talaga definite kung ano ba mas bago o mas luma/vintage, yung serialled or non-serialled, hehe. so if anyone can shed light on this matter, by all means... hehe
