very helpful. May gig pa naman kami on a beach this month! Pero maraming akong napulot still.

Your personal tone is not as important as the overall sound.

Sabi sa article...pag stadium or any closed space, wag na gumamit ng artificial reverb kasi may natural reverb na yung venue. Kung sa beach...you might want to add some kasi open space sya. hehe  :)

Feeling ko lubog na luog (as in).

Wala kayong stage monitors? Make sure they are working sa sound check and dun ka tumayo sa tapat while playing.

Dapat talaga may good communication yung band members and soundtech. Experience ko dati nilkasan ng bass player amp in the middle of the song at overload labas ng track nya maski anu ginawa ko to turn down the gain.Kadalasan kasi di sila mag sa-soundcheck kaya mostly good sound comes around 2nd-3rd song na.Very important is Souncheck.

You can't rely on your amp coz hindi yun ang nadidinig ng audience. You can ask a friend to stay with the sound tech as an option.

Sound check with a non band member sa floor is strongly advised before the gig.

Based on experience.
Agree with a person na nakikipag coordinate sa tech.

What I mean is you don't rely on the amp for the volume.

This is important. There were some gigs na hindi na ako tumugtog at nanatili na lng kasama mga sound techs. Kinakausap ko sila habang tumutugtog yung band to increase the mids, bawasan treble, lakasan yung boses etc. Syempre I wanted to play...pero take one for the team.

What I mean is you don't rely on the amp for the volume.

Have faith sa mga sound-techies, chosen profession nila yun eh.. kaya for me, stick to your own 'ear-wise-setup' and the soundtech will do the rest..

+1. because you play with the rest of the band.

and may I add, it's not just the volume, but also the parts. each part should complement the rest. otherwise, kahit leveled ang volume ng lahat kung yung parts naman talaga e di akma, "chopsuey" ang labas.

"Great mixes are filled with space, not notes. No one wants to hear 64 bars full of 32nd-notes except the douche-bag blowing them from the stage."

seeing the bigger picture, as what the article stated.

Quite true. Palitan. Hindi dapat buong kanta iisa ang volume and attack.

"14. There is no money above the 5th Fret".

Ano interpretation nyo dyan?  :?

Mine is:
1. Rhythm guitar playing is important.
2. Yngwie, Vai and Satch are poor (income wise) compared to Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks and Bruce Springsteen. hehe

Probably means that songs without long lead parts sell more today.
