my suggestion is to go with a laptop + DJ software w/ MIDI controller.  then a pair of good 12"or 15" 2-way powered speakers on tripods.

get a small table, set up your laptop, connect your MIDI controller, connect the powered speakers to your sound card....party!!

for lights, if you can, have at least 4 effects lights that have LED sources...its light, will mount on a wood screw, will work out of an outlet....and again, can be set-up by 1 person.

advantages would be:
- it fits into a car
- it only takes 1 guy to set up
- with a laptop you get to bring with you a big library of music
- the MIDI controller can be used for your DJ gigs and when at home, as a controller for other softwares

I estimate, you would invest just a bit above P100K to get this going...that does not include the laptop.

Digidesign VENUE Profile System/ Digi Venue Mix Rack Console/ McDSP LIVE Pack/ MAC Pro with Pro Tools HD64/ Pro Tools 8/ ATH-M50/ Radial J48
