To be dubbed "Queen of Bossa" is something to be taken seriously. Her success in the business is so phenomanal that most clueless listeners get turned on to Bossa Nova even though there are people in the business who are far more entitled to being the title Sitti is getting.
There is an ongoing quarrel at the pinoyjazz Yahoo mailing list so I just wanted to know how you guys think. I thnk I like Nyco Maca much better.
-
oh man.. not in here too.
-
Sitti? Ha! No way. For me Flora Purim and Astrud Gilberto are the meter stick to which a bossa nova singer must be measured. IMO.

mas magaling kasi yung pagpromote kay Sitti compared to the others.

yep i agree, promo magaling! at least jazz is on the radio these days! :-D
-
I think it's not so much the singer, but the songs ..
If you look at her album list, it's got a pretty good mix of easy-listening pop tunes that sound catchy, but haven't been enjoying airplay lately. So, there's that 'nostalgic' appeal.. And of course, add to that the 'bossa' touch ..
So, there's that feeling of: 'hey, I know that song, but it sounds different! Who is it?'
Not sure if it's a good comparison, but it could probably the same formula that propelled Nina's 'Live' album to the top of the charts not too long ago.
Bossa nova has definitely been around for a long time. So many unknowns who can probably do it ten times better have all but vanished into oblivion..

:-D
sitti s voice is so thin that it sounds like a cihip and dale anime voice but still in tuned, and her back up musicians are great, but the punch line is her beauty  hehehehe ganda ni sitti at seksi kaya sikat

Yeah, and the marketing leverage really got her on the spot. Oh well, that's the Philippine Music Biz for you. :-P
-
Well, yes, the marketing leverage definitely helped but ..
I do believe that its the songs themselves that 'sold' the album.
And in fairness to Sitti, she's also 'paid her dues' as a gigging musician. For quite some time, I do believe she was one of the regulars at the Stone House cafe/grill before she became a household name.
So, whatever success she's reaping now, she's definitely earned it well.
-
Every musician must go through that rite of passage: seemingly endless gigs, etcetera.
I guess we have to give her that: She paid her dues somehow.
I know that it's already been mentioned but let me say that probably the reason why she's dubbed as such (Queen) is because she's the only one doing it. Regardless of whom comes next from then on it's undeniable that she's the first in this period of time.
So, I dub thee Queen Sitti. :-D
-
Hehe, diba si Agot Isidro din nakiki-bossa?

Like who, Eileen Sison?
-
Well...
Sitti is popular with D'Masang Pipol because they sense that she's a beautiful human being. That's why they adore her.
That's why WE adore her.

i sessioned on drums last monday for Fair Ground at Stone House...Sitti was there. Took pics of her with my girlfriend. She was very accommodating and friendly. I told her I gave Ronna (gf) her album as an Anniv present last Aug. 29 and she really appreciated.
If you've heard Agot's rendition of ONL's "Umuwi Ka Na Baby", I'm sure uuwi nga talaga yun...
OT
What ever happened to the Ugoy Ugoy band?
Oh, and welcome Aya. :-D
-
Hi din po. =)
Well... if Sitti is currently "The Queen of Bossa", i'm her knight in shining armor. A knight in service of the queen. Guess that's been kinda obvious over on Pinoy Jazz.
I've always been very protective of friends, family and loved ones.
Sitti's one of the good guys/gals.
Love and peace to all.

Hahahahahahaha! =D
Sabagay....
:-)

What ever happened to the Ugoy Ugoy band?
I loved Ugoy Ugoy but it must've been expensive keeping that band together because of all the players. In the meantime Lynn Sherman is trying to make it as a soloist. But of course Lynn wasn't what made the band truly special it was all those amazing horns.

So do I actually. But authenticity and soul isn't what necessarily sells to the masses - Sitti is light, sachharine, reasonably attractive, easy to digest, and the selection of familiar easy listening pop tunes set to a light samba beat sells a lot of coffee when they start playing it at Seattle's Best. Nyco Maca and Eileen of Guarana are closer to the real thing but maybe the fact that they can sing in Portugese and are backed by bitchin' brazillian percussion ensembles (cuicas, agogos, samba whistles, the whole ball of Uly Abante type wax) doesn't impress the average joe. But I know that Nyco Maca knocked me out the first time I heard her live.
Sitti is a packet of Equal. Nyco is a line of cocaine.
-
Fair enough, Jim. :-)
To each his/her own. :-)
-
i think ,us, pinoys just have this thing on dubbing anyone "queen of..", "king of...", "prince of..." or "....princess"
i don't know a lot of details about what "pure" bossa is...pero i like her album. gusto ko yung mabilis yung salita na parang latino hehehe

Caught Sitti's Eastwood gig last night.
Pretty good performance. Nice moments of phrasing on Sitti's part. And she sang in tune the whole night. This despite being hella tired. (Ahhh... the price of fame... weariness)
She's grown quite a bit since making Cafe Bossa.
While most of these Sitti clones are just "some chicks" to me, Sitti herself ain't.
Don't know about you guys but to this dawg, she's ayt.

-
nyco. yes.
sophia over sitti.
sitti sings well but for me, doesn't get into bossa jiggy that much.
Bossa is like teleporting to a distant land, while sitti is just, err, singing.
where's the soul, baby?
-
When i was younger, in my 20's, my purpose was to dazzle with prestidigitation.
Now, i'm in my 30's and my intent is to delve into true magic.
It's my humble opinion that this involves singing of who you are.
Sitti sings of who she is.
That's why I, for one, respect her.
Yes, she has a ways to go, as do we all but all things considered, Sitti is not just "some chick". I consider her an artist worthy of salute.
As my esteemed father is fond of saying, ten million Elvis fans can't be wrong.

-
I haven't heard much from Mishka Adams.. what's up with her? :?
Ang dami nang Sitti clones. Nakakainis.
And yes, Sitti is really more than a pretty face. :-D
-
Mishka's now in London. She's been based there for almost a year now.
She had a pretty huge farewell concert before she left. And she threw a despedida party at her house before she left, too.
Re Sitti: agreed. She's also a beautiful human being. No diva-ish-ness whatsoever. Very impressive.
c",)
-
Mishka Adams. Now there's a singer. She's been in England with her boyfriend Ariz Guinto studying jazz, doing gigs, and making a 2nd album apparently.

OT: Sir! Borrowed your CD from a friend. Nice thing you got going in the disc, sir! May mga kopya pa ba kayo? He wasn't able to have it autographed by you so I'll bring it with me when I buy from you.
Good to know that Sitti has that attitude towards her music. From someone who's into the Philippine Jazz vein your word is close to gospel.
I'm not really a fan of her singing but with the kind of mindset she has and knowing what she wants she'll go beyond wherever she is right now in her music and her life as an artist.
Like the Fight Science feature on the National Geographic channel said, no matter how strong or fast a warrior is, it is still the heart of the warrior that counts.
Mabuhay si Ms. Sitti! :-)
-
Zzzzz..wha..who...Bossa what...?
-
Sold out na po, early this year pa lang.
Will let you know when we reprint/repress.

She commercialized Bossa Nova that's just about it but as we all know as artists, dami pa nyang kakaining bigas. Through her I think we can now consider Bossa Nova as pop.

Indieboy,
It kinda, well... sucked. (But it seemed like a good idea at the time.)
So I'm now back to being a full-time musician.
:-)
Opo, will let y'all know if/when we've reprinted my Solo cd.
:-)

Ever since the fall of the acoustic phenomenon, bespectacled yuppie hipsters have been looking for a replacement.

I think i remember you guys - "No excuse for a name" from Clientlogic? Well you guys won that fair and square, and all the judges (raims, cooky, jett, kedy, etc.) thought so. Maybe you should start a "call center/BPO band" thread in another forum. I honestly don't know where you guys would find the time to rehearse and gig given shifting. I spent a year in purgatory at Accenture BPO on a night shift schedule and it just zapped my social life and was glad to escape with my sanity intact. Anyway this is getting way off topic, best to move this to another thread/forum :)
-
Yes, I have always wondered what happened to those bands, especially the winner. Better start another thread asap, Jim.
-
she's popular i think because of her looks ...
maybe exposure is one thing. :-D
-
Well, her looks certainly don't hurt. :-)
In fact...
Saw her at Mall of Asia yesterday, at the Burn magazine event. And boy, she was exceptionally gorgeous yesterday!
As in, stunning.
Tumigil ang puso ko, as in, pramis. :-)

I just read her article again during my flight onboard Cebu Pacific. From her responses she's really in touch with her music. And it won't be a mystery kung natigil sandali ang tibok ng puso ni Sir Aya. E-hehehehe! :-D
-
Sitti?packaging lang yan!not to sound "mayabang" pero yung mga sumession sa kanya
nung pumunta siya dito sa iloilo can't play bossa for sh#t!no offense but, para silang showband
na pinilit tumugtog ng bossa.i think those guys also sessioned for n#na.oops :x

talaga!i have a friend here na pumepwesto, acoustic.he's into malmsteen and neoclassical stuff
-
Hmmm, maybe I should transfer this thread to the pop forum? I just listened to some Sitti tunes today and still can't find a smidgen of jazz in the performances. :)

I agree. As what was previously mentioned, it's all because of her packageing, her looks and probably her contacts. Artistically wala akong makita. This is absolutely just pure commercialism so definetely it'll just fall to the "pop" category. Sa Bossa Nova or sa Jazz in general di pagandahan or kelangan cute ka. Look at Miles Davis or Thelonius Monk o kaya Carmen McRae, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn or Betty Carter. Do they look cute to you guys? They're not appealing to me in any way physically but these people....they're pure talent. Now that's genuine and authentic jazz and that's the reason why these people became immortals.
Just a thought, after 10 or say 20 years kung kulubot at losyang na si Sitti....kilala pa kaya sya? Kasi si Ella di ko na inabot ng buhay pero all I can say is that....
-
Uh-oh, someone's gonna be hit hard with this.
Peace lang tayo. :-D
-
Dami nga nung naging asawa't chicks, eh.
:-)
-
Birthday ni Sitti bukas, November 29. She turns 22.
Happy birthday, Sitti.

I knew it. :-)

22 pa lang si Sitti? Mas matanda pa yung ate ko ah! :-D

Mommy ko rin, mas matanda. :-D

Hahahaha!
-
bagay kay sitti yung song na all i can do by club 8 :-)
-

-
she's great. ganda ng boses.
-
seriously i dunno, dont think she's deserving though, although i like her voice and she's really pretty!. most genius kids dont even know antonio carlos jobim, astrud gilberto, stan getz, flora purim but know her. and call themselves "bossa fans". great. haha!
-
But who cares when she's just SOOOOOO damn gorgeous! :-D
-
she knows what she wants =)
n she made it... after all yun ang ginusto ng buong marketing team nya=)
she cant please everyone.. but she was able to capture lotsa listeners..
i think her music brought bossa sa pop songs.. thats it =) one good formula to be in the radio =)
-
i was walking to my class a while back and i saw sitti jogging around the acad oval..
early moring pero parang uminit.. :-o :-o :-o
ngayon i try to jog, malay ko ba kung makasabay ko..

-
ops ops ops... akin yan. :-D

Ang ganda-ganda niya talaga, as in. Pramis.
And the really nice thing about Sitti is that she's equally sweet to everyone. She's just as sweet to watch-your-car boys and security guards as she is to managers and congressmen.
c",)
-
nanonood ba kau wowowee ngyon??
i was surprised..
she looks diferent now.. pumayat sya.. and naging tanned skin nya.. n sum lighlights sa hair... ang ganda nya ngyon...
iba na to... =) FHM NA!!!
-
Ganda talaga ni Sitti. Kahit bagong gising at wala pang hilamos.
Pero di siya bagay maging sexy star... she certainly has the body for it pero masyado siyang sweet.
-
she certainly has the body for it pero masyado siyang sweet.
Hmm.. porke't nalasahan mo na pagdadamutan mo na kami. :-(
-
Kay Misa ka na lang, brad. Ipaubaya mo na sa kin to. :-)
Ang kay Juan kay Juan.... :-)
-
-
Oo nga. Matindi nga. Mahal ko na nga ata , eh. :-)

First of all you really need to take a back seat in assessing the music 'market' in the Philippines. Who are the listeners? Who is/are your target market/s?
After a careful thinking of who or what clicks - you may want to ask the following questions:
- Who are the listeners? - general mass market; audio/music - philes; critics; radio-listeners; cd/dvd buyers; college/high school kids, etc, etc...
- Who ended up buying the music? - again, which one of the above.
- Timing is another important factor!
Then again you may one to ask the question - is it really the 'magaling' ones that get the mass appeal? or is it the 'saleable-to-the-masa/listeners'?
Often time you find that the 'magaling', authentic ones (the supposed deserving ones) that do not get the attention. Why?
You may argue that Flor Purim/Airto Moreira, Astrud/Joao Jobim, LAni Hall, Gracina Leporace etc. etc. are the starndard bearers...but who are these artists to the majority of listeners. In other words...the 'common listener' is not the 'afficionado', the 'common listener' does not really care if the pronounciation is Carioca or Italian or Frenchy. What do they care about; or what makes them listen.
Maybe Sitti had that 'voice-of-the-time' as did Barbie, Kitchie, or the girl of UP Dharma Down or the girl of MYMP. And it so happened that 'that voice-of-the-moment' was timely used in Bossa NOva.
I am a purist and a hard critic of artists BUT again, I do not follow the 'mass market' mentality. You may say that I would not be able to produce/choose a 'Nora Aunor' because I simple do not ride on that 'taste'. I go for the 'original' feel, for the 'pure' sound, and for this kind of taste/attitude, I will not be able to make the mass market like 'my kind of music'.
I may not be 'the market', you may not be 'the market'; bottom line is you'll make money IF YOU KNOW AND WILL SATISFY THE MARKET.
Do you know your market?
-
she has this charm...

-
I met her way before sya sumikat and she's really very nice and napaka yumi. She has a nice voice but according to some di naman daw ganun talaga ang pagkanta ng bossa.Well anyway,in fairness soothing ang voice nya. Nauso showband, then acoustic tapos balik yung alternative band..biglang pumasok si Sitti with her Bossa Nova music na di gaanong popular sa masa.Syempre for a non musician listener panibagong tunog to at nagustuhan naman ng pinoy..
-
Kinikilig at touched ako, super, as in mega! Sitti asked her manager Garrie to call me and offer me a free ticket to her concert. Kilig!!! As in!!!

she was one of the many bossa babes who revived the pinoy bossa genre once again. 8-)

@ least me contribution sya to educate pinoy/ mass (musically) sa bossa/ brazilian music,,.

yung Asia b ung Bosso Diva? hahahaha,.un ung sabi nya :-D

it's really difficult to strike a balance between being faithful to a genre, and personalizing your own music. it's purely a matter of personal preference, and you're not likely to reach a point where nobody would criticize you. and just for the sake of argument, even if there's a point where everybody will be happy your music, maybe you won't, because your work would be lacking in artistic integrity.
-
-
the brazilians don't seem to be complaining -- maybe sitti is doing just fine. slightly OT -- i got to play for her a few times. she's very easy to work with, very pretty and charming.
i guess sometimes it just boils down to whether or not the music is pleasing to the ears, and that is entirely subjective, and will vary from person to person. sitti's popularity i guess is one indication that a lot of people like her -- whether it's her voice, her looks, or the entire package. the purists don't seem to be happy, but nowadays, "genre-bending" isn't exactly something new.
-
-
Well said, kumpareng Marvin. Lucid, intelligent, well-informed, balanced, fair.
I agree.
Of course, the fact that a funny-looking bald guitar playing warrior lesbian is halfway in love with her may have something to do with that.
Ewan....
-
she made bossa nova more mainstream
+1!
she started a fad! a breath of fresh air kung baga in the music scene, something new to the world outside of the bossa music scene....now every one does bossa, even rufa mae quinto.. hehehe
kinda like when paolo santos and nina made acoustic gigs(pero di ko talaga sure kung sila talaga nag start but sila yung mga unang sumikat), maraming gumaya..
or freestyle a few years back, show band era! hehehe :-)

'Wag na 'yan.
Di kaya ng powers ko.
Tutal... like i've always said, what would a girl like that want with a guy like me? Sino ba naman ako.
Wish ko lang.
Anyway.
Let's move on, shall we?
-
Dude, she's playing here in Sydney in a few weeks time.
-
please respect the forum rules. we're all civilized here. at least that's what i think. so tagarits, if it's not too difficult for you, please act civilized too.
-
If you've read Sitti's bio (very very impressive), you're conclusion can either be: That's who I wanna be when I grow up, She's the daughter that I've always wanted or She's my dream girl. :-)
-
Sitti has the looks, the smarts, and the talent. i think taga UP si Sitti. :-)
nasa Game KNB siya kanina. wala lang! :-D
-
I think what made her popular is her good and charming looks....IMHO
-
and her voice really fits the bossa genre. iba talaga yung tunog ng boses niya. pang lounge talaga. soothing.. :-D
-
the voice & face..... :-D
-
... the dance moves, definitely the dance moves. :-P
-
seksi he he

-
i used to think packaging lang si Sitti... but heard and saw her in the Podium last week (i think?), and I feel that she is a pretty capable singer, may talent, ika nga... her phrasing, as someone mentioned earlier, was good.
-
She is so lovely :-D
i love to see her bossa moves ahihih!
-
Because she's the real thing. IMO :-)
-
her voice is cute and sweet to my ears..
-
dahil magaling yung banda...cute lang yung singer..
-
Galng naman sitti eh at least you'll hear jazz on radio's, well with the title. yeah dami masmagaling na artist when it comes to bossa. pero I think its alll about promotion kaya nilagyan ng title na queen of bossa. well it's all about business.
-
-
Pero kailangan pa bang mag-artista? :?

[/quote
baka naman "jumping on opportunity lang" or "widening her horizons (sabi ng manager niya)" hehe.
-
-
She's not poor. She doesn't need the money that badly.
Look at showbiz artistas in this country. See how they're treated. Witness how they treat themselves.
As someone who loves Sitti as person, as human, as friend, it breaks my heart to see her walk that path.
It breaks my heart to see her name linked with Aiza Seguerra's (showbiz tsismax generated by illusion-addled monkey minds).
It breaks my heart to hear of how badly she acts. It breaks my heart to see people make fun of her and how she dances.
It breaks my heart to hear her still sing slightly out of tune.
It breaks my heart to peer into a possible future.
Linked to whoever the new Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual will be, she'll be the new Anne Curtis or Angel Locsin. She and her leading man will be linked in real-life (pero tsismax intriga ever lang dahil sa totoong buhay vadingger-lacious everlooh talaga ang lolo mo, vaglah).
Sitti, dear Sitti, you can be so much more than this.
You are so much more than this already, if you but remember.
Sitti, please, for your own sake....
Tread carefully. Keep your eyes wide open, your feet on the ground, your soul in the magic of the wide open sky.
And when they're gone
your name forgotten
i'll still be calling your name
you are the queen who lights my day
Ingat lang, kapatid.
Aya Y c",)

Maybe her looks + a help of her friends who is already well known? :?
-
maybe yung singing nya na POP while bossa yung areglo. :-)
-
I remember playing guitar for Sitti once. She was 4 hours late for the performance hahaha.
She has nice legs
But actually, she's a nice person and at least she's made people aware that Bossa Nova EXISTS. Kahit na hindi "real bossa" ang sikat ngayon (SORRY AH, DISCIPLE PO TALAGA AKO NI JOBIM, JOAO, ASTRUD AT GETZ HAHAHA :-D) at least people know it exists and people are getting into this wonderful old groove again.
Naasar lang ako when Sitti said nung performance "Let's play just with the guitar, sax and drums because THE REAL ORIGINAL BOSSA HAD NO PAINO" Medyo thought balloon moment ako dun: "So Antonio Carlos Jobim was a pianist. Jobim is the person accredited as Inventor of Bossa is not REAL ORIGINAL bossa nova?" hahah. Well, I just shut up na lang and play cause people are there to see her and not me hahhaa!
-
Pero kailangan pa bang mag-artista? :?
hindi nman natin hawak ang diskarte nya. bka may magandang ambisyon ang tao kaya go sya ng go. sayang din namn kasi yon. kahit naman ikaw pag binigyan k ng opportunity db? :-)

+1 :-o :-o
-
my ninong (sa kasal) probably is one of the first to buy her debut album
-
she's cute.
i like raffi quijano better.
-
Grabe ka-sintonado si Raffi Quijano, even more so than Sitti.
-
She's gorgeous and sexy. She has good range and rarely(never?) off-tune pag live. Sometimes boring when she sings slow songs but still a great performer and musician.
One reason I repeatedly listen to some of her songs is HER BAND!
Ang lupit nila lahat! I suggest you look for her Live album and listen to:
Track 16 - Pais Tropical
Track 17 - Mas Que Nada
-
okay yun timing nya,at galing ng marketing at packaging sa kanya at na mainstream nya yun bossa, not that ngayon lang yun lumabas, pero you have to admit not everybody knows bossa nova and naging buzz word lang sya nung nagsimula na ang kanyang career...

No, but she was once told by a Brazilian that she has "the soul of a carioca", which or may or may not be a compliment.

-
What Sitti has done with bossa is like what Brownman Revival did with reggae.
-
ok naman si sitti....
-
Maybe coz of her looks??? or um.. i really don't know why.. i'd go for Sofia! ;)
-
^sofia sounds more Astrud to me. well, di ko alam kung ok yun or hindi. :-D
-
cute and humble
-
galing mg-perform,maganda,smart,sexy and mismo ung rythm section ni sitti :-)
-
i like sitti too....first singer na nag stick tlga sa bosa nova ......and maganda sya sabi nila kamukha ko sya... :-) lol ok ang stage presence nya.....well....bsta tamang crowd lang diba .......
-
:-D
sitti s voice is so thin that it sounds like a cihip and dale anime voice but still in tuned, and her back up musicians are great, but the punch line is her beauty  hehehehe ganda ni sitti at seksi kaya sikat
Yun yun eh...
She's a decent singer, but not that great.
-
galing mg-perform,maganda,smart,sexy and mismo ung rythm section ni sitti :-)
kahit tanggalin mo nalang yung iba ser, eto nalang itira mo.

-
my aunt is a fan of sitti..
she even requested for a cd album last x-mas..
nakakarelax daw kasi..
-
kasi :?
hmmmm teka
-
ganda ng boses, naiba rin sa kanta since puro pop at extreme sounds while sa kanya mas relaxing ang tema na mas prefer ng maraming tao
Gail Blanco I may say parang si Sitti rin  I found her way of singing na passionate din
-
mas magaling kasi yung pagpromote kay Sitti compared to the others.
MISMO! Kaya yung question ay dapat i rephrase to : WHO made Sitti so popular?
-
^Sitti started about 7 or 8 years ago singing jazz standards (and konting bossa) sa mga hotel lounges. she was managed by gary trinidad back then. come 05, together with warner music. they recorded the album Cafe Bossa. it was recorded sa loob ng isang CR (yup. sa isang restroom), ng isang pasada lang. siguro warner did not want to put too much "bet on the pot" dahil hindi siguro ganun ka-assured na magki-click ang bossa. for a while there had not been any bossa nova recording done sa local scene. sino ba dati? bong peņera? jackie magno?
tapos, yun na. the album cafe bossa hits gold in 3 months and platinum in 5 yata; double platinum before 06 ended. but sitti continued her usual gigs. tapos naglipana na yung "pang-bossa" ng ibang record companies. sitti did a live gig in 06 na naging record album. this made double platinum in a few months after being released. she still did her typical gigs and syempre raket sa kung saan meron. then the album "my bossa nova" later 07, which also made double platinum. then she got boy abunda as her manager. then gigs abroad. pakonti-konting gigs nalang. last month kaka-release lang nung new album nya. all four recorded albums were done by warner.
with that info, you should be able to pretty much figure out who or what made Sitti popular. there should be a lot of answers to that question and most of them would probably be correct.
-
medyo ok naman si sitti
-
Feeling ko, mas okey 'yung C2.
Kaysa Sitti.

Mismo. Tsaka, wag uugahin, ma lo-loose yan. :-D
-
sorry, but her voice irritates me no end. ano yung term ko sa boses niya...parang galing sa ilong  sorry Sitti fans. nasisira kasi ang mga Sergio Mendes songs sa kanya eh.
and i wouldn't go that far in criticizing her band na. hanggang kay Sitti nalang ako mang-o-okray.
-
^ Nag-improve na yung placement niya. Ok na siya ngayon. At --buntong-hininga -- ang ganda-ganda niya talaga. :-)
-

Siiti Navarro has a charm and sweet voice that makes me feel good whenever i hear her singing..

-
-
Wala siyang origianal pero merong original.

whatever man. get that poorly made documentary outta here.
-
Popular na lang. 'Wag na yung Queen. Nakakahiya lang. Parang pambato. Ang layo.
-
-
MEDIA bombardment.. some people are irritated already specially sa mga cover songs..
high pitched voice.. play safe na boses na same old bossa vibe.. its pop..
parang pinapatay niya yung kanta pag ginagawa niyang bossa version..
-

Cut the lady some slack. She does what she does because she loves and enjoys it. She makes some people happy with what she does. The media bombardment isn't her fault. Blame it on her handlers, not her.
-
i do enjoy watching Sitti, iba rin kasi ang aura kapag siya ang nagpeperform, carry din niya.
besides, wala namang paki ang average listener kung pure bossa o hindi, basta enjoy lang sa music... and yeah, she has a very good voice!
two thumbs up kay Sitti! :)
EDIT: oh yes, she's really pretty! package deal talaga -- looks + talent... astig :)
