Title: sewing? tailoring?
Post by: bakit? on September 18, 2014, 08:45:11 AM

Kinalikot ko kahit i don't know how to use sewing machine pinagtyagaan ko, knowing na sira na daw yun.. Ginamit ko yung machine at gumana naman using an old newspaper, ayus pa pala. Followed by Google nagka idea ako how to use the machine.

Nag-canvass ako around the city where I'm near kung magkano pagawa ng slacks.. Well, with the bludgeoning ukay scene dito sa Baguio, I was taken aback with the 1,600 per pair charge ng isang well-known tailoring shop..  :)

Suki kasi ako ng patahian then, magastos.. kahit kasi bnew di pa rin sakto skin yung size kaya i have to go to tailoring shops to resize them.

pag may ukay finds lang ako nag tatahi kasi madali lang mag resize kesa gumawa ng bago out of new materials.. but sounds exciting though..

May Dressmaking / Tailoring dun.. Fee dun is not more than 500 php lang all in na yun din.. 3 days a week ang pasok pwede isabay sa day job of night job nyo..

as with other repairs like electronics, cellphones and well [gooey brown stuff] nga sa gitara, it pays to know at least a few things para sa diy. dapat nun ko pa naisip to. mahal talaga pag ipapagawa mo pa sa iba.

dahil kasi mahilig ako sa flat caps ngayon, naisip ko why not ako na lang gumawa instead of buying from stores ng mga flat cap na worth 1.5k?

i can customize and maybe put in better materials.

I wanna learn this too. Bumili pa nga ako ng sewing machine kaso mukang disposable at nasira agad pero I learned a lot from that machine still :) Am planning to buy a real sewing machine yung di tapak na Singer na di electric hehe.

I am also thinking of taking a TESDA course para matutunan ko talaga.

So far I have sewn a gi for my boyfriend's cosplay of the live action Anji Yukyuzan (Rurouni Kenshin). Hehe and I am kinda proud of my work despite being clueless about dress making/tailoring. I plan on sewing other cosplay stuff hehe.

Also, I really wanna learn because I wanna make tote bags out of canvas then paint them afterwards with whatever sh*t I have in mind. I wanna make lots of stuff and crafts. Kaso nga lang my sewing machine broke so I am still waiting for funds for a new one.

I also wanna sew things that I can give to other people because I was inspired by this old lady who sews dresses for the poor.

Well, yeah. Something like that hehe..

For clothes, I do more of alterations with minimal sewing. Present kabaliwan ko is t-shirt weaving.

For basic bags ayun kaya kong gumawa from scratch from the pattern to the embellishments and all.
