Try to be consistent as possible, I mean, try to emulate the sound from the recording of your choice as close as you possibly can.

Setting your effects  ''Compression'' to acceptable levels should do the trick and could help you a lot

And keep practicing daily and if you find some good songs na sa tingin mo masarap tugtugin kahit mag isa kalang , go! get the chords/tabs and practice, anyway Goodluck sa Role and Career! \m/

i'll add to this John Mayer's rhythm - medyo advanced, pero if magppractice ka na rin lang, lagyan mo na ng challenge diba?

I do mostly rock and metal but open naman ako sa iba't ibang styles ng ibang genre :D
Learn more chords. Mastering the rhythmic element is, perhaps, the most important part of being a great rhythm guitarist, but don’t give the harmonic element an overlook. As you mentioned you're into rock and metal, don't get me wrong but your chord vocabulary is likely to be somewhat limited. Expanding it can do wonders to enhance the sense of tension and release, in your music. A good way to build your harmonic vocabulary is to learn some of the common jazz chord progressions that the standards are based on. If barre chords are all you know, learning what 7ths and 9ths and augmented/diminished chords sound like will open up a whole new world.
