EHX Metal Muff

Whut? The metal muff is an actual fuzz pedal? :| I always thought of it as more of a straight-up metal distortion. Must look into that.

Black Russian Muff (modified to true bypass). I love it on its own. But with a tubescreamer in front of it... SWELL! I tried it in a studio with a half stack (though SS amp yun)... feedback at your mercy. Nagulat din ako nun!  :-o

A fellow forumite offered me one for trade before. I wonder what it's like in real life. :3

As for Muffs, I want to try the Wren and Cuff stuff as well as the Stomp Under Foot Muffs!

This pedal has been taunting me for more than a year now. I haven't had any single fuzz pedal in my life but experience taught me to always go for the sound i like without compromise, lest I would fall on a vicous habit of trial and error. My research has led me to this sweet sounding fuzz pedal. The reason why I like it so much is because most of the fuzz pedals I have heard has some sort of "distortion-like" sound to it which kinda takes away the vintage feel I'm looking for. This pedal has a sweet unique tone to it which specially sings when finger picking. It also beautifully cleans up when the guitar's volume is turned down. The only things that are making me think twice is the price and the technical details on the website that reads "It won’t sound good through a small transistor amp and a cheap guitar". I'm not sure if my guitars are expensive enough to unleash it's full potential lol :)

Anyway, here's a picture of the pedal and a video of Scott McKeon demoing his signature pedal.
Hope you guys enjoy it! ^-^

Take a deep breath.
This SM fuzz is very polished and pretty slick and when I say slick meaning its marketed pretty well.

I too am guilty into buying this hype. I bought a Lovepedal limited edition Chromed out MK II tonebender replica.
The pedal sounded wicked but then again its not 100 percent wicked over any production Monsterpiece or Fulltone Soulbenders out there.

Fuzz boxes dont need to be that expensive.
They always sell you the vintage trannies hype or limited production BS to pump up market value.
There are tons of pretty good fuzz pedals out there that dont cost that much.

Have fun looking for diamonds in the rough.

Yerp. I got a tonebender clone for cheap. And it's good. No need to buy some over-hyped fuzz pedal anymore. Satisfied chap here.

not quite on this particular pedal. if you check 0:33 of the video, you will see that the patch cables extend beyond the point of where the knobies are  ^-^

Completely agree! Hence, the second thoughts on buying this baby...but until i find something that gives exactly the same tone and nuances, this remains to be on top of my GAS wish list  :-D

One special consideration on germanium fuzz is that it is temperature sensitive. This is the only germanium fuzz pedal I have seen so far that claims to be temperature resistant.
However, being a noob with fuzz, I'm not quite sure up to what extent this has been an issue here in Asia - specially that climates here can tend to be really hot!
