try mo any variants of ubuntu 7.10 or PCLinuxOS 2007. User friendly naman sila tapos mas maganda pag may high speed internet ka kasi yung mga softwares nila free to download sa repositories via sypnatic or adept package managers.

Kung gusto mong ng install yung linux the best way is to have a partitioned HDD. Ni-Clear out ko yung laman ng isang partition dedicated for my linux install. :-D

ubuntu pinaka userfriendly na nagamit ko. mahirap magshift from windows to linux pero pag nasanay ka madli din. mas marami nga lang commands and all tapos yun nga medyo limited programs talaga. maraming powerful programs din kaso pagaaralan mo pa and all

Ok lang siguro yun basta walang sira yung Hard drive. Mag back-up ka na rin ng data just incase.

pede ka naman mag dual boot... install mo muna windows mo then install ka ng linux... ubuntu pinaka userfriendly... pero maganda din ang linux mint and fedora... you can actually burn linux mint and fedora sa cd tapos pede mo sila laruin muna so you'll see if you'll like the feel of linux... it won't touch any of your files... para ka lang nag laro ng games pero linux...

btw you can run windows inside linux... kelangan mo lang ng more powerful pc para ndi bumagal... tapos pag run mo ng windows inside your linux lahat ng windows software pede mo na magamit ndi lang pede games... pero that's where the dual boot comes in isang restart lang windows ka na ulit para pede ka makapaglaro...

and having different partitions or separate hd is recommended if you'll do this kasi mawiwili ka mag butingting ng linux mo and minsan ndi maaasahan may mali kang magagawa so reinstall na naman... so dapat hiwalay yung linux mo na hd para kung sakali mag loko yung linux mo lang aayusin mo ndi maapektohan yung iba tapos you can still work in windows... since magkahiwalay sila...

- mejo gumulo ata explanation ko... hehe... rock on!
ayos!

tanong ko lang...so i have winxp installed in my pc...i will make another partition for my fedora OS...ilang GBs ang kelangan ko i reserve for fedora? at madedetect ba nya agad kung nasaan yung blank partition na paglalagyan ko sa kanya? at kaya ng up to four partitions nitong hdd ko?

^6-10 gigs is more than enough... and yes madedetect niya ang partitions mo... the way you install it is parang windows din it'll ask you where you want to install it... bale just burn the live cd tapos play with it muna if you want tapos you can install it gamit yung installer niya... tapos bale magkakaroon ka ng dual boot sa startup mo para makapili ka on which os to use pag start ng pc mo...

- kung natatakot ka install... pede mo naman lagay nalang yung live cd... you can actually play with it and install stuff mula lang sa cd without it touching your harddrive...
ayos!

this is sad...baka maghanap pa ko ng isa pang linux based OS nito pag di ko nakayanan to...
