many of todays Local Bands (working class musicians) who make it as their main source of income are struggling to make ends meet especially for the ones who have families to take care of...

sorry for this guys. pero eto talaga napapansin ko. this does not apply for all, ok?

1. gaya-gaya. (style ng tugtog at pananamit.. minsan pati yung tinutugtog na mismo..)
2. not well-versed in music theory. (pag nagjam kasama ang mga sikat na artist o well-versed musicians, ayun. kitang kita.)
3. doing music for the sake of money.. hence, the repetitive "lyrics and meanings" (para pumatok sa masa.. wala na yung may sense na lyrics.. or may hidden meanings)
4. nagpapagandahan o nagpapapogian lang.. para madiskubre at after sometime, maging "artista" (i really hate music artists turned actors/actresses)
5. panay ang pagrerevive ng kanta..

mula nang nagkamuwang ako sa mga bagay bagay, sa naabutan ko, 2006-2008 na talaga ang best year ng filipino bands. dun lumabas lahat ng solid na banda. that's just me.

If we don't have internet, good local bands are hard to find (where they play, their songs, etc.).

Lame local bands are the ones getting attention.

And some local bands are just trying to be cool.

And then there are some who are really good.

Andami magagaling at masasabi kong may potential na maging artist talaga, pero hindi magkabanda. Let's start a philmusic workshop! haha OT.

Mostly Pinoy bands nowadays are striving to be on the mainststream but still there are bands who want to keep it down low. Got jobs at day play at night for fun not paid as an artist and sees music as a stress reliever not a job.

And I think that's cool with me.

sa rehearsal studio ko mostly college level yung nag-jajam may highschool din
70 percent halos pare pareho lang kinukuha
sabi ng GF ko "radyo lang ba ang pinapakinggan nila"

same eheads, at pogi rock ang pondohan at kamikazee.

anyway
sad to say they dont want to play rock n roll, punk, metal, core music
why?

Sana yung mga Naguumpisa pagtapos nila sa mga pag cover, try nilang gawing materials yon para sa sarili nila o sa banda nila at wag lang silang mag stick sa pag cover although ok lang naman pero sayang kasi yung panahon at yung mga gamit na binili o yung bayad nila sa jammingan

sana mas marami pang tumugtog o gumawa ng bago sa banda o sarili nila kahit walang bayad talagang RAK EN ROLL lang. ANG SAYA LANG NON
