its a maxtone pedal...sandy told me about this last monday. according to him, this is the first and only pedal jb brought in. cant buy them yet. i just grabbed it at jb megamall earlier today and went straight to my band rehearsal...played with it for the next 5 hours
i know what you are thinking...THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE DUALLIST and THIS AINT CHEATING!
if you cant play heel-toe then this pedal is not for you. the first thing i could do was 16th note triplets while testing this inside the store. i only managed to do single 16th note patterns after 4 hours.
the thing is playable but will never feel like a dw, IC or elim no matter how you optimize your settings. its difficult for me to use it as a single pedal since i have to literally play heel up always. but for the price i paid for, its well worth it :-D
i promise to take better pics of it when i get the chance. the photos were taken at the rehearsal space

you cant! play the long footboard with your toe and play the the heel plate with your...heel :-D you can move the heel farther out to be able to play the footboard more freely but the feel isnt quite that good. its not as responsive as my dw.
know what, i can do modifications on this pedal :-D im going to replace the hinge with a dw and get a better cam

buy 1 take 1 kasi ang duallist. make one stroke and you get one for free.
dito kailangan ikaw yung mag initiate nung 2nd stroke via your heel. you dont get free hits. look for thomas lang's demonstration of the sonor giant step pedal on youtube. it works the same way but maxtone used a different design
cant compare feel and performance against the duallist since i never used one before. compared to my dw5000 this pedal feels dead but with a little patience and the prospect of creating new patterns, its still a worthy piece of sh*t
im not going to use it as my main pedal anyway

bearings all the way. hindi nga lang naka bearing yung footboard pero madali na gawan ng paraan yun. medyo manipis yung plate nya sa ilalim pero at least its there.
double chain yung footboard, single chain yung heel pedal. madaling palitan ng strap kasi hindi sprocket yung ginamit na cams. tonight ko masusubukan yung improvised strap made from leather. kagagawa ko lang kasi kagabi. iniisip ko rin na gawing strap yung sa heel board.
additional playing comments :
kung ikaw yung tipo ng nag side to side motion sa pedal, hindi rin pwede sa yo to. meron kasing metal part sa left side na extension nung heel board. tatama yung paa mo dun.
nasanay na ko sa constant release technique ni steve smith kaya very easy sa kin yung 16th note triplets dito sa pedal. i need to learn the stiff heel-toe technique by tim waterson to get that even 16th note singles.
musical application? wala pa e. siguro pag master ko na yung technique
power is a problem. i cant play as forceful as i want with the pedal because i dont have an 'anchor'. i miss the fixed heel-plates that im so used to resting after making a stroke

pero i guess mas user friendly ito kasi you wont be taking one hand out of play to put your hats in closed postition (pero syempre astig din doing it with your hand sa drop clutch)
pero another plus is you can adjust the setting ng closed position ng hats, kung gusto mo super tight or medyo loose which i think you cant do with the drop clutch.

Virtually, they have the same pedal model. Mas bago and updated lang yung design ng kay woodstockintheattic. Plus, the hinges are different. Are those Delta ball-bearing hinges on woodstockintheattic's pedal?

That's nice to know. I haven't tried a Cobra Clutch yet, kaya curious ako. And I don't really get to use a hi-hat clutch frequently and on a regular basis, so I don't think I really need one hehe! Thanks for the feedback.

Yung saken is US Made DWs. Late 90's and early 2000's. Yung kay Woodstock is the New Versions na Made in Taiwan. :mrgreen:

Yup. There have just been some refinements and upgrades to the pedal such as the double chain drive and as Sir Drumster mentioned, the delta ball-bearing hinges among others. This is the Delta 3 Turbo Chain Drive model by the way. Both the older and the newer models are excellent and I wouldn't say that one is better over the other. I guess it will just depend on the drummer's preference. :-)

As far as I know, the Pearl Eliminator double pedal's price was Php19,999 at Yupangco/Perfect Pitch. I don't know yet how much JB Music (Pearl's new distributor) is planning to sell those. Meanwhile, the Tama Iron Cobra double pedal costs somewhere between 18-19K at Audiophile. Those are regular store prices.

I currently own a Tama Iron Cobra, which is my second IC twin pedal. I had my first IC, from 2003-2006. And I used to have a Pearl Eliminator, from 2006-2007.

i adjusted it already. i prefer the beaters far from the head because im a heavy stomper. the advantage of close beaters? i think it's for the ghost note on the bass pedal. and about the shaft??
the length is proportional on the response of the pedal.the shorter the shaft, the faster the response.

ah okay...ako din nagaadjust ako ng malayo na angle ng beaters like 45 degrees something..tapos iaadjust ko ung footboard dun sa pinakadulo...nung una nahirapan ako sa response nya kasi nagbago ung feel...pero sanayan lang...ayos nga cya for 32nd notes..at sobrang smooth and fluid pa ng response... :-D

they're nice and probably the most comfortable dbl kickers i've used after the DW 9000 series. i've used a bunch of double pedals over the years too...name it and i've probably owned, played and broken the thing. Iron Cobras are very good too and those lasted me a very long time pero after gigging and touring, they eventually do break.

maganda yung peds ralph..i tried one dati sa sam ash cali.. responsive talaga siya at ang laki ng allowance para sa paa ko (for a size 8 1/2) pero..hindi ako bibili niyan, instead bibili na lang ako ng double peds na mas mura diyan at i aadjust ko na lang :lol:

Napaka hirap kasi magkaroon ng axis dapat may friend ka na taga US.. pag kay vincer 30K, i got my yamaha flying dragon 13K almost new pa sya... i sold my iron cobra for 11.5k and added 1.3k nalang hehehe and i must say my playing has improved so much.. speed and technicality... :evil: sa ddrive sakto ang swivel technique.. nakagamit narin ako axis longboards grabe ang bilis.. kaso dami ako na ririnig na sirain daw mga small parts nya..kahit ung na test ko na siraan narin.. :? chek nyo ung Trick pedals detonator..

i must say axis is the fastest pedals i have ever used tpos gamitin nagarap naako kasi parang kollias speed nagawa ko..hehehe kaso mahal dahil wala ako alam iba sskor kundi si vincher.. dapat mataas upuan mo pag axis para pitik ng paa gagawin mo... ok yan ung AL kunin mo para di gaano malaki board.. ingat lang sa pag higpit ng mga parts mahirap masiraan... oo mura kuha ko sa Ymaha ko, d2 galing un sa phil 16k nya dati benta nakuha ko 13K ok narin tlga ako sa yamaha mabilis din ako rito hehehe :evil:

hindi conventional yung spring structure nya check nyo
this could be the future design of pedals! compressed springs, direct drives, no-slave pedals, split cams, infinite adjustability, a pedal that's as sophisticated as Bumblebee haha!

i must say axis is the fastest pedals i have ever used tpos gamitin nagarap naako kasi parang kollias speed nagawa ko..hehehe kaso mahal dahil wala ako alam iba sskor kundi si vincher.. dapat mataas upuan mo pag axis para pitik ng paa gagawin mo... ok yan ung AL kunin mo para di gaano malaki board.. ingat lang sa pag higpit ng mga parts mahirap masiraan... oo mura kuha ko sa Ymaha ko, d2 galing un sa phil 16k nya dati benta nakuha ko 13K ok narin tlga ako sa yamaha mabilis din ako rito hehehe :evil:

this could be the future design of pedals! compressed springs, direct drives, no-slave pedals, split cams, infinite adjustability, a pedal that's as sophisticated as Bumblebee haha!

i agree with gil.the trick pedal is an axis killer. it's about 200USD more expensive than the axis A longboards, but i think the pedal design (i.e.adjustability,stability,etc.) is more advanced than the axis.they took pedal construction and design to a new level. just my opinion...

pano nyo ginagawang parehong pareho yung settings ng vari-pitch/footboard angle ng slave pedal sa main pedal since walang markings sa slave? :-D Sakin ginagamit kong palatandaan yung beater, paisa isa lang, vari-pitch muna tapos yung footboard angle, so on so forth... kayo ano ginagawa nyo?

I prefer maximum spring tension for maximum response! Yun nga lang, sa una mahihirapan kang paabutin sa bass drum yung beater mo pag di ka pa sanay, pero sa tagal, masasanay ka din, at ang maganda don, ambilis bumalik ng beater mo! Pang ratrat na settings talaga. :D Siguro mas lalo na kung may Cobra Coil na nakakabit, may nakatry na po ba dito non? :?

dw 5002 turbo nung 2001. di ako marunong mag double pedal kaya nakakabit lang sa practice pad. dinadala yung master pedal sa gig occasionally
nagpapark ako sa bahay last week nung dumaan yung magbobote tapos nakita ko lang yung footboard ng pedal sa kariton kaya hinarang ko agad. bugbug yung pintura nung pedal pero fully functioning lahat kasama pa yung orig dw beater (pudpod na yung felt side). the price is so obscene i cant even post it here :-D

I noticed that the beaters are relatively higher than the center/middle of the head. Di ba may effect yun sa sound? I think they should be 2 to 3 inches lower to get the best sound of the kick drum. Mas sentro mas ok!

Share ko lang sa akin. I only use a single pedal na double chain and I did some slight modifications hehe. The MAPEX Double chain single pedal works for me! :wink:

Sobrang mga nakakainggit kayo sa peds nyo .. Sana makapagipon ako ng limpak limpak na salapi para makabili ako ng Pearl Elims at practice pads .. Gamit ko Sonor DP 472 ... Di ko na papakita yung pic , nakakahiya .. hehehe

First , the reason I posted my opinion is because someone is criticizing my gear and he's not even a good drummer . Yea , it was a pinoy soap opera cheezy kind of reaction that I made but if someone said that to you ?! I think you'd react the same way I did . I have nothing against what you've said and I TOTALLY agree with all the things you've said . My grievance is yung mga tao na may attitude problem and nang ki-criticize ng mga gamit . Peace !

mga 4-5 years ago :lol:
kala namin mabigat performance kasi first time ko makakita ng IC noon, yun pala pitik pitik lang patterns :-o
mas mabuti nalang sana na tabi nalang nila kahanginan nuh? hehe.
ganun talaga buhay, mas mabuti wag patulan 8-)
btw dugs3, la pa naman nag reklamo sa sonor ni dheniz (yung binenta ko)

Ang nakakainis lang minsan eh yung mga sobrang yayaman na tao na bili na lang ng bili ng kahit na anong matripan nila, tapos pagmamalaki nila yon, (o kaya bebenta ng mas mahal sayo :-D) tapos parang piling pa nila mas maraming/magagandang gamit mas skillful.. Thanks bro! Got it from HK. Anyway, to sum it all up I'd say its quite a different experience for me given that I've only used felt beaters before this. I'd say that these plastic beaters have excellent response and great punch which are features I've been looking for. These beaters are extra sensitive and have good bounce so in my case I do not have to exert that much effort on my strokes to maximize its full potential. Among the other speedball types, these are most likely the most durable ones because I heard that the rubber version's tip detaches easily over a short span of time. Maybe that's the model you're pertaining to, Sir AkiraJumbo? :-)

at yung mga sinasabi niyo na nasa gamit ang galing, mali yun. nasa skill at kung paano mo dalhin ang gamit na hindi mo kailangan pang ipagmalaki. kung drummer ka talaga, humble ka dapat sa mga gamit mo. kasi darating yung time na magiging luma rin yung mga iron cobra, eliminator at mga biggest stars na pedal ngayong araw. yun lang po!

salamat sir.. maganda yung response nya..depende rin sa adjustment ng tension rod pag masyado kasing mahigpit mabilis bumalik yung footboard nya kya pag mabagal at umaangat yung paa sa pagtapak hindi kumakagat..pero all in all maganda sya at isa pa sale ko nabili kaya the best talaga
oo nga wala atang nagbebenta ng seperate beaters n ganto..baka may mga nagbebenta dito sana makahanap kayo.. :-D

oo nga raw.. matibay kaya nga talagang pinag-swap ko pa talaga siya sa 5611 ko... sa 5611 parang akong nalugi... pareho lang rin sa presyo ng syo.. pinang swap ko sya tapos nagdagdag ako ng P2.5.. mejo masakit sa bulsa pero worth swapping na rin kasi maganda talaga ang response niya.. oo nga, may drumset nga, wala namang cymbals.. pero sana w/in this month, makabili na rin ako ng cymbals.. sabian b8 worth P14k... buong sweldo ko, ibibili ko na non.. hehehe... ung drumset ko, 2nd hand lang yon kaya mura lang bili ko pero maganda na ang kahoy... sulit na rin kasi katropa ko yung pinagbilhan ko kasi libre na yung skin nya tapos yung snare, piccolo.. ok na talaga.. kelangan ko na lang talaga cymbals,,, :-D

oo nga raw.. matibay kaya nga talagang pinag-swap ko pa talaga siya sa 5611 ko... sa 5611 parang akong nalugi... pareho lang rin sa presyo ng syo.. pinang swap ko sya tapos nagdagdag ako ng P2.5.. mejo masakit sa bulsa pero worth swapping na rin kasi maganda talaga ang response niya.. oo nga, may drumset nga, wala namang cymbals.. pero sana w/in this month, makabili na rin ako ng cymbals.. sabian b8 worth P14k... buong sweldo ko, ibibili ko na non.. hehehe... ung drumset ko, 2nd hand lang yon kaya mura lang bili ko pero maganda na ang kahoy... sulit na rin kasi katropa ko yung pinagbilhan ko kasi libre na yung skin nya tapos yung snare, piccolo.. ok na talaga.. kelangan ko na lang talaga cymbals,,, :-D
wow b8 akin nalang yung crash haha joke lng.. :-D oo nga no medyo lugi ka ng onti kasi ang dame ng nagbebenta ngayon ng 6611 db n 6k..pero ok na rin atleast 6611 na yung sayo..ako baka matagalan pa akong makapag set up ng mga gamit..la talagang breads eh hehe..

na test ko yung power glide (w/o cobra coil) pero hindi ko nakabit sa bass drum...sinandal ko lang sa mga boxes dun...as far as i remember mas malambot (para sakin) at mas mabilis ang response pag may cobra coil...dahil sa push-back nang cobra coil everytime na tumatama yung pedal...hope you get the picture and give you an idea :-)...pero sabi nga, depende parin yun sayo...and how you play... :-)

yes bro may difference siya...ang rolling glide smooth siya, aside from quick return ng foot pedal because of the cobra coil...rounded yung cam niya....yung sa power glide naka offset yung cams...mas malambot siya and much stronger attack...you will see the difference ng two cams sa picture...pero depende parin kung san ka comfortable at kung ano gamay mo sa dalawa :-) bili ko sa rolling glide october last year mga nasa 16k plus. yung power glide na single nasa 7k plus. personally mas gusto yung bagong i.c. totoo yung claim ng tama na "the feel is unreal" hope this helps thanks :-)

Tnx sa support sa album at sa band bro.. actually medyo matagal na un palo ko dun mga 3yrs ago na lately lang nalagyan ng guitars vox at bass tracks damn sayang! kasi dapat bago ako mag col center nun kaya ganun nakakapang hina ung graveyard shift hehehe solid axis kaya sya mabilis dahil sa material used design at ung left foot 99% tulad ng right amazing.. tas walang hinge ung foot board parang nakasabit lang sa turnilyo kaya walanf friction very clever...

actually, nakapag-tanung na ako sa jb.. 19k ang benta nila pero kung ika-cash raw, pwede nilang gawing 15k.. sabi naman ng vokalista namin, pumunta rin siya ng jb sa megamall, 15k ang benta nila sa elims.. kahit 3months to pay raw, 15k lang talaga... sana walang makakuha non... whhaaaaaa!!! matagal pa akong magkaka-breads.. sa call center rin kasi ako nagwo-work... tech support.. sarap ng may trabaho ng may pera, mabibili mo gusto mo.. hahahaha!!! okay lang kung may bayad sir... bumili nga rin ako ng album ng sin e.. syempre, kapal naman ng mukha ko kung libre pa cd.. naghahanap rin kasi ako ng loss of control na cd sa mga record store... kahit sa music one sa green belt, wala.... blood shedd ata tsaka sin, meron na dun...

you mean the vari-pitch? if your refering to the vari pitch clamp... sa tingin ko hindi naman... similar to other equipments besides drum gears... you can see this type of clamp everywhere. i think in the cases na nabali yung cam is as a result of overtightening....

Hehe! marami bro... outstanding features are: convertible from short to long board, ninja bearings and direct drive. Ang TAMA medyo napag-iwanan dapat maglabas na din sila ng direct drive pedals.

Unfortunately, it's the other way around. Trick is way more expensive than Axis. Ang pinaka mahal ng Axis nasa 35k dpeds na yun. Ang Trick aabutin ng 45k dpeds din. That was accdg to vincher of thedrumshopmanila.com

CNC machine siguro ang kailangan dito para makagawa ng cam tulad nyan. ang feel siguro nito parang Demon Drive considering the independent footboard and beater adjustment minus the duo deck feature of the DD. :wink:

here is the rough draft hehehe the edges would need to be rounded, pero for measurements sake ginawa ko munang square. The length of A and C can be shortened pa I guess. BTW measurements based on Gibraltar 6611 pedal (new models)

balak ko kasi palitan ng beaters yung gibraltar 6611 dp avanger ko. pwede daw yung beaters ng ic? ano kaya yung magandang beater, wood or rubber?
at meron pa bang ibang beater na compatible sa 6611 db?

depends on your liking, magkaiba kasi sound n mpoproduce ng wood at rubber beater, better search nalang muna kung anu mas gusto mong sound... at as long as parehas ng diameter yung rod ng 6611db at ibang beaters, it's all good.

@lil.drummerboy: hindi sir, parehong length, nagiba lang is ung design ng footboard, engraved na siya hindi embossed, so flatter tas mas smooth... improved hinge... bigger and smoother power glide cam... yeah it's a nice pedal! sarap ng duo beater niya... lots of power, quick response, solid pedal.. comes with hard case siyempre... for 4k only.. sulit na for me... may hard case eh.. hehe

correct ,but to achieve fast accelleration in those pedals is to condition your feet first,anyway any pedal would give you fast response,depends on how fast your feet is ..secondary nlang yung ganda at settings in my own opinion,your lucky if you have a fast feet and your using hi -end pedals design for speed...

sa demon drive kasing natry ko hindi ko na binago yung setting pero ganun pa din naging speed ko. mas bumilis pa yata.. :-D dun sa trick naman di pa ko nakakatesting pero sa porma pa lang.. LOOOOOOOOOONG BOARD... :-D

meron dating binenta sa jb katulad nung 2nd pic. ako nakabili pero sobrang sama ng feel. bigat ng footboard lalo na dun sa heel. late na late yung palo ng beater.

Anyway IMHO, maganda yang mas malaki sa paa mo yung footboard. Kasi magandang advantage yan sa Heel-Toe technique. Yung iba nga, namumulubi na maka-ipon lang pambili ng Axis pedals. Kasi maganda talaga ang footboard nun at applicable talaga sa Heel-Toe.

Salamat po.
By the way. Yung may ari at nyan asawa ng teacher ko. Nagulat nga ako nung makita ko na axis pala yung pedal nung drum set na nandun. akala ko walang kwenta se parang bulok na bulok na ung drums eh. tapos mga 1 week ng nasa stage ung drums di ko pinapansin se baka sabihin nung ibang student sa ibang year nag magagaling ako pag nilapitan ko ung drums. Tapos nung nag yaya yung sir ko na itry ko ung drums pumayag naman ako. tapos un pag tingin ko :-o axis pala ung pedal. 3 weeks pa lang sya dun sa school namin. sobrang ng hihinayang ako se axis un tapos pinapabayaan lang ng ganun naisip ko din na paltan un ng pedal at hingin ko na lang yung axis. kaso nahihiya ako dun sa asawa ng teacher ko. sa Tanay,Rizal po yung school namin.St.therese school po pangalan nung school. Sobrang nakakaawa sya no? :-(

matagal na pala???? sobrang ikse kase ng board nya ee... maganda padin yung long board... :)
Same board length as the normal 5000 series daw... Umangat alng daw ng konti yung pedal height... Pero gusto ko try, baka petix nalang "heel-toe" ko dyan... No need to purchase long boards anymore... :-D
OT: nagulat ako sa dami ng di nakakaalam sa product... Akala ko ako lang clueless about sa heel less pedal... :-D

sarap nyan bro! so anong feel na gustuhan mu? cobra or DD? obvious sa pics na malaki ang pinagkaiba sa length ng board nung dalawa kahit naka long board setting ung DD. totoo pala na basa ko sa ibang forums (or dito kaya yun) na kunti lang ma add ng length sa long board setting ng DD.

^ @Sir pejadanza....ang haba nga ng speed cobra parang ang laki ng space para sa paa, more freedom of movement kesa DD. Plus SC really whips the beater hard kahit less effort lang. I think that recessed chain feature ng SC is really effective. But I'm beginning to dig in to DD, it's really responsive especially the left pedal and ok pala sakin direct drive sa double ped. Kelangan lang talaga ng time to try all the possible settings bago makuha yung comfortable setting para sakin. DD is very dynamic for me. I just don't like the beaters, palitan ko na lang siguro ng IC or sonic hammer beaters in the future.

ok yung dual beater ng Gib... sarap, lalo na yung plastic... "dig" ang bigay na sound sa tuning ko...

Oo bro tama ka. "Dig" nga din un sound nya sa bass drum ko pag un plastic surface hehe. Un beaters nung 5611 ko, dual beaters eh. Un nasa 6611 ko, self-aligning. Naipost ko na kc un 5611 with the dual beaters sa ads ko kaya ndi na pwede ipullout yung beaters eh hehe. Oh well. Baka makahanap na lang ng ganun dito sa PM nyehehe. O kaya makapagtry ng wood beaters.. :?

Mabigat sa paa bro, pero malaking tulong yung bigat nya sa pagiging solid ng feel at punch ng pedal, nagkaroon nako dati ng elims na belt drive, ang tingin ko lang na lamang nya is yung interchangeable cams, sa feel belt drive talaga ang prefer ko kaya yung SC ko ngaun converted sa belt drive.hehe, IMO to bro ha. :)

:mrgreen: Yeah! IMO, Karamihan ng mga single pedal drummers, prefer nila ang mabibigat na foot plate kasi mas solid ang apak... yung lumalaban ang lutong ng pedal sa paa nila para feel nila yung bawat apak na bibitawan nila... Mapapansin mo na mga single pedal artist ang bigat talaga umapak...

The battle between belt and chain drive. Haha
Just take care of your converted chain to belt drive guys, if your using laces or any sort of thick fabric, if the tension on the pedal is tight it could somehow become loosen. And then you have to replace it.
I watched my friend used a thick fabric, don't now where it came from, and he used it for a power glide ic, after two months it stretched. So he decided to use fan belts. Haha, but I think its better though.
