The Fujifilm S9500 is
NOT a DSLR...
Definitely, the S9500 does have the functions and LOOKs LIKE a DSLR... But, a DSLR's most basic function is what the S9500 lacks. It is that DSLRs use a mirror to reflect the light coming through the lens to a pentaprism, for you to be able to view the subject in the viewfinder. When you press the shutter, the mirror flips up to reveal the sensor that records the image through the lens. This is what makes the mechanical sound whenever you press the shutter. Not the electronic click which the S9500 produces.
The S9500 doesn't have a mirror or pentaprism. It uses an electronic viewfinder for you to view the subject through the lens. And thus, it cannot be classified as a DSLR.
