Electric guitar strings on Acoustic guitar?

I just removed the strings on my acoustic guitar a while ago (its kinda rusty and old, thought i might get tetanus  ).
I'm wondering if i can use electric guitar strings on my acoustic (According to my classmate electric guitar strings are "softer" and has a better tone)

What do you guys think, are electric guitar strings "softer" compared to acoustic strings?
Can I use electric guitar strings on my acoustic guitar?

Yes mas malambot yung strings tsaka mas madali magbends sa acoustic guitar pag electric guitar strings ang ginamit!!!

natry ko to dati nung mag aacoustic jam kami sa bahay ng classmate ko eh nagkataon kulang ako G, B, & e strings ng acoustic.

ginawa ko ginamit ko yung spare set ko ng electric guitar strings!!!

although di ko natripan ang tone

No, it won't have a better tone. Electric guitar strings are meant for electric guitar. It won't resonate that much compared to putting the right strings on an acoustic guitar. Gusto mong acoustic sound na malambot strings? Use an acoustic simulator on an electric guitar.

i used to do this nung elementary and highschool days...later on ko na lang narealize kaya pala ang hina ng tunog ko when i jam with others. electric guitar string wont resonate well in an acoustic guitar. pero its perfect for practicing bends kung wala kang electric guitar

ang pangit ng tunog..wag mo na sayangin ang electric guitar strings at gamitin sa tamang gitara. IMO its better to practice with and acoustic preferrably with 12's na acoustic string.lalakas ang fingers mo making it more effortless when you play your gig on your electric

ive been putting electric strings on my acoustic for 3 years now. i like the softer feel. maganda sa daliri esp if one practices a lot on acoustic guitar like me.
sa sound it wont be at par with acoustic strings, iba ang design nyan eh. pero hindi naman sobrang malayo= you can still have good tones as long as you use quality elec. strings.
