Sony Orbis (a.k.a Playstation 4)
« on: April 02, 2012, 08:28:40 PM »
So the rumor mills are starting.

It's looking like a release timeframe a little more than a year from now. Apart from the new hardware upgrades, it seems like the most discussed aspect of it is the possibility that games would be 'locked' to a single online account. This would negate any chance of buying and playing used games or borrowing games from friends (or bringing your games to a friend's house, etc). Seems like a potentially bad move in terms of consumer backlash, but I guess we'll just have to see. They wouldn't do it if they didn't think they'd make more profits (and they do have access to all kinds of consumer research). Oh, and backward compatibility also seems to be gone (no playing PS3 games).

I've been a PS fanboy for years.. owning all the consoles and playing tons of games. I'd be interested in seeing what the next one will be like. The PS3 has been out for so long (time flies so fast!) but the games still amaze me.

Andami pang gray areas about PS orbis. pero about locking used games and other similar stuffs, they can't keep up nga ngayon sa mga hacked system so wala silang credibility sa statement na yun.  :-D

As always, greedy corporate bussiness moves ang sine-secure nila. I still believe that any 'real' gaming consoles is only as good as the games na marerelease sa platform na yun, mas mahalaga yun kaysa specs and features ng initial hardware. Thing for sure is I'll be on standby for updates ng PS4.

HD 3D-TV 2.) Blue-Ray Disc (for movies) 3.) PS Eye and other gaming accesories.

since wala pang malinaw na successor ang blu-ray sa ngayon it's logical to keep the 'PS4' na blu-ray pa rin. ang magbabago lang is hardware specs (CPU, GPU, Gaming and Video RAM) and software.

Pero feature wise, PS3 pa rin ang leading between the latest generation gaming consoles. It can do almost anything a PC can do and more.

I agree.
