typecast's breathe through the glass and saosin's seven years. breathe through the glass is basically an uninspired, softer version of saosin's seven years... in my opinion. don't hate. :P

may nakakalimutan yata kayo... yung ultimate rip-off, "Pinoy Ako" by Orange N Lemons na kinopya sa "Chandeliers" by The Care! pati lahat ng mga "G bands" a.k.a. mga songs ng mga alternative bands na puro G-Cadd9-Em7-D etc lang lagi yung chords.. wala na bang maisip na ibang chord patterns? at least yung Rivermaya nag-innovate sa "Liwanag sa Dilim" nilagyan ng capo sa 3rd fret tapos ganun ulit haha :)

maybe they just sampled it? 'cause rnb, hip hop, rap, etc. sample a lot of songs and [gooey brown stuff]. like, one of the songs from that godzilla movie that puff daddy performed... it was based on led zeppelin's kashmir.

Rage Against The Machine's 'Wake Up' was based on Kashmir, as well.
Damn glad it turned out as gripping as it is.

There's a song by Sandwich featuring Mo' Twister that sounds like 'Wake Up'.
Crap.

almost all of parokya ni edgar's older popular stuff not only contain similar riffs from other foreign songs but have the entire song's chord progression ripped off with a generous bunch of stupid lyrics. after that, they make it their own.... wallet ko - knockin on heaven's door (gnr), siopao n special - creep (radiohed) and loads more... then people react as if it's cool to have a band ripping off foreign bands' songs.... how crappy and mediocre musicianship.... too darn lazy eh?! :?  :?  :?  :?

wait, here's another.... andrew e's ALABANG GIRLS riff is exactly the same with led zeppelin's BLACK DOG.......damn.... :?  :?  :?  :?

Which would you rather have?
A band that rips off a popular song, who doesn't claim it as their own, and just does it for fun?
Or bands that rip-off obscure songs, claim it as their own, and get the credit guilt-free?

PNE are clowns. So I don't really mind.
They're not that 'cool' in that aspect but they're fun.
