Generally its the combination of those. . . the material of the cone itself and also yung design. . . the type of coil used(copper, alluminum, etc) and insulation, and type of magnets used (alnico, ceramic, samarium, lately used is neodymium). .

Q: OK LANG BA PAGSAMAHIN SA 2X12 CAB AMPLIFIER ANG 75WATTS SPEAKER SA 65WATTS SPEAKER?

ADDITIONAL INFO: para sa mga bagong bili na amps or speakers, kelangan nyo pa pala i-BREAK IN ang speakers para lumabas yung totoong tone nya. kasi pag bago pala matigas pa and hindi pa loose yung speakers so msyadong SHRILL-ish ang tunog. so todo nyo ang BASS & MIDDLE, TREBBLE about a half. then play it for atleast an hour.

anu to seseriess connection in mono or will run them in stereo??...alam ko kasi pwede aslong as same resistance nila pro yung amp same yung buga on both drivers/speakers malamang mas unang bibigay yung mas mababang wattage if di kakayanin sunog yung amp/speakers...ofcourse mangyayare lang yun pag talagang malakasan na yung volume..might be wrong though

Yes. For as long as your 2 speakers combined match your amp's required impedance.

On a side note, if you mix more than one speaker, the effective power handling is THE NUMBER OF SPEAKERS X THE WATTAGE OF THE LOWEST SPEAKER.

In the case of mixing a 25W speaker and a 75W speaker, you effectively have a power handling of 25WX2 = 50W.

@ skunkyfunk sir do you have mathematical explanation regarding 25w combined with 75w speakers = 25w x 2 which is 50? havnt seen any formula for that sir..

To make my explanation as "simple" as possible, consider each speaker as a 'cave". Say you had to pass all 4 caves, the first 2 of which are wide, and the subsequent 2 are narrow. If you were too fat, you cannot pass all of the caves even if you were able to get past the two wide ones.

Same thing applies for speaker power handling. Even if you had a 100w speaker mixed with a 20W speaker, whether in series or parallel, the effective power handling is just 20WX2 = 40W. (The wide cave is the 100W and the narrow cave is the 20W). getz?

2 speakers @ 16ohm each?... if wired in parallel is actually 8 ohms... make sense since most power amps are rated at 8 ohms that's a perfect impedance match... a good design (safety factor considered)

now what you want is to use 2 8ohms instead of 16ohm.... wired in parallel that would be 4 ohms..... hook it up to an amp that is rated 250W at 8ohm yields twice the power according to ohms law.... meaning the amp that says 250w at 8ohm theoretically now is rated at 500w at 4ohm load. that means if connected to 2 8ohm speakers rated 250w wired in parallel yields a mirror rating of 500w 4 ohm load.

eh sa madaling salita pwede.... the difference is you get more power (power factor considered)

pero what puzzles me is that i dont see any single speakers at 16ohm in the last 10 years or so

in simplest terms just pay more attention towards impedance matching more than the exact wattage. in reality there are no exact wattage... thats why the term used is rating... and most practitioners either prefer the amp is 50% stronger than the speakers or the other way around.... i'd prefer the the former

may question po ako: meron po akong laneylx20r 15watts amp, kapag outdoor di marinig kaya balak kong magkabit ng konzert 12inches speaker para naman lumakas lakas ang tunog, ok lang po ba ang gagawin ko? di po kaya masira amp ko? ano po dapat na i-consider sa pagkabit ng speaker sa amp ko. tia

Dagdag lang, when mixing different speakers, also look into their respective efficiency/sensitivity ratings ang make sure they are not more than 3 decibels apart. Pag mas mataas pa ron, the more effiecient speaker might drown out the others in the combination.
