Exactly! A Pearl S2000 snare stand can hold snare drum sizes 10"-16" in diameter because of it's adjustable snare arms(check the video from Pearl's website). Unlike other snare stands or your common snare stand, it will hold your 10" snare but you'll end up having a snare drum too high in height kahit na nasa lowest setting na yung snare post for height adjustment. As stated from your post na din. The thing is S2000s are not yet available locally but you can still ask JB if they were able to order it from Pearl from their latest inventory.

Now, if you'll just be using your 10" snare as an aux or secondary snare right next to your hihat or primary snare drum, why not attach Pearl's ISS or Optimounts then mount it using any pearl adapter like the AX20 with a tom holder. Then attach it to either the hihat stand or a cymbal stand and maybe the bass drum as well.

Hope this helps....

the problem with this is that the pearl stands are very expensive.but i'll take into consideration the iss mounts.ang ayaw ko lang is sometimes the clamps tend to make "dimples" sa hihat/cymbal stand if not installed properly.
thanks for the comments.

eh adjustable naman yung snare stand diba? or you are looking for fixed stand?

yung adjustable...
pero i heard that mapex and gibraltars can hold 10" drums.i have to try them first.
i'll let you know kung kaya talaga.

salamat sa mga comments.

Eto yung stand ko... 10" snare yan... Gibraltar yung stand ko pero hindi naman lumalapat sa metal parts nung claw yung bottom hoops. Nsa rubber pa rin as you can see sa pic.. Hindi ko alam kung anong model ng Gibraltar yan but it can hold a 10" incher well enough.

The cheapest stand in Lazer (700 pesos yata) held my PDP 508 10x5 dati. It's the old design snare stand, not like the standard Gibraltar, etc designs.

Kaso lang, limited height, because it can only go up so much. If you sit low, ok lang yun. I'm about 6ft tall, and if my legs were bent 45 degrees, I can still comfortably use the snare, with the stand's height maxed out na.

I'm using Pearl Firecracker wood 12x5. Tried it also as my main snare in small church venue. Good crack and volume is good for it's size and most of all afforadble.  :-D
Meron din 10x5 in poplar and steel but I believe di sya locally available at JB.

Marc Quinones sig snare  for a very unique sound.
Sound of Timbales w/o the snare. Afforadable too.

If unli budget ka, I'll go for the BP.

Using a Side/Auxilary Snare
« Reply #65 on: February 14, 2013, 11:51:29 PM »
@mods Please merge this if its not suitable for new thread

hi Pinoydrums peeps.

Anyone using a side snare here?

I've been trying to incorporate a side snare in my setup, but don't know how to maximize the usage. it sounds cool in verses, but aside from that i can't think of other function of it.

can you share you thoughts.

Peace! \m/ :D

Yes sir adjustable ang size ng snare drum basket (where you place the snare drum on). The basket rests on a threaded center tube and is adjusted by turning the knob underneath to conform to the width of the snare drum. Try visiting a drum store and look at it up close...pwede mo namang i-operate dun or i pa demo...hth

No, typically a 10" drum would not fit a regular snare stand. You would need an adapter like what Pearl offers to accommodate the smaller size drum to be placed on their general snare stand lineup. Though the high end 2000 series snare stand of Pearl can fit smaller drums such as a 10 inch due to its retracting arms but this is not common amongst snare stands.

No worries gss.

In some way you are still correct since certain snare stands can be adjusted all the way up to grasp the 10 inch snare but would be pointless due to its excessive increase in height and leaves the position of the snare unstable.
